Happy Turkey Day to all my American friends!

I'm thankful to have each and every one of you to talk to.

It's very, very quiet around work today..... the division I work with is off-site for two days of meetings....... and my US boss and coworkers are sleeping in. Maybe will get some real work done.......nah!

I was just informed that the course I'm working on designing will be the kick-off venue for the 5 Peaks trail series next season, at the end of April. No pressure! Since the frost will just be out of the ground, I will need to go back over the course to ensure we aren't going to create any big mud holes...... not normally an issue for trail races, but the conservation peeps might want to invite us back if we make too much of a mess.

Will run at lunch with the work group....

Have a wonderful day, everybody!!

Happy Thanksgiving Heme and all who follow.

I also slept in today. The plan was to do a 45 minute eliptical workout this morning and another this evening. After the workout this morning that felt harder than it should, I'll skip tonight and rest for my race on saturday. The humidity was real high at the fitness center which made the workout harder.

No results yet for KS but looked like a great morning for a race.

Hi Rip!

Sunny lunch run, trying to hang on to the back of the fast group. Young payroll clerk dropped back, stayed with me and we went on a merry romp of the local park, some of it cross-country to avoid construction. 3.8 miles.

Back to work!

Think I'll surprise DH with a pumpkin pie for dinner. He missed having one for our TG!

Hi Heme & rip

Happy Thanksgiving to all

Got some of my mojo back.......5.5 naked (garminless) miles in the woods. Over 3" of rain in the last couple of days, so the trails are muddy and the seasonal creeks are now wet.

Nice pictures from last weekends event FO, congrats on the AG award as well. I was happy you guys upset OK State last weekend, giving Oregon a chance to move up in the polls, but unfortunately Oregon couldn't handle USC, so they're out of the picture now.

What a great day to race. About 55 degrees at the start and slightest of N breeze. I'd been happier if it had been 10 degrees cooler but this time of year can either be horribly hot or horribly cold; so this was a good day. Course is a new one for us. Police began to complain last year about the number of officers it took to manage our course that we've run every year for over 20 years. So they moved it downtown which is usually dead anyhow anytime. Made a 2 X 2mile loop course. It was a solid and fair course plus certified.

This year we had the Portland.ME Roadrunners club contact us and we set up a race against each other. This year it was 1st oa male and 1st oa female. Our guy ran 20:10 without any pressure and our lady (his wife) ran 22:34 with out any female pressure. Unlike our weather Portland had snow on the ground (not sure about the street course) and 26 degrees for the low. Their men's winner ran 19:56 and the women's winner 23:04. We will be send steak up to them next week.

Ran 1st mile in 5:49 with a nemesis and then he pretty much faded as he normally does if you make him hurt early. Went thru the two mile in 12:04 where one of the younger guys (38 yo) passed me. I passed him back at 3 mile and thought he would back up but hung close enough. He passed me again with about 300 yrds to go and I kept him to about 8 secs. Finishing time 24:38 and 19th oa. 1st master. That time would have been good for 2nd master last year as he ran 24:08. Both 1st and 2nd master from last year were away. One of them is from Portland, ME and he was up there running at 25:55.

Now I'm going to take down the Christmas decorations from the attic so I can start putting them up tomorrow.
