Richard, that sounds like a terrific rest day -- enjoy.
Nice run, flounder. I think I may have gotten a parcel of the Grizzly heat -- 23 balmy degrees here in southern New Hampshire.

Five miles again, feeling another touch stronger than yesterday. Scaling the hills with some energy to spare, so that is encouraging.

Or as former Patriots coach Pete carroll once said: "I'm feeling kind of dangerous."

Good runs, all

Goodmorning all -

Rest day today, but I didn't get a chance to reports yesterdays run, so here it is.

Didn't get out till 8:30 last night. Took dog with me temp was 30. No wind which made the run really enjoyable. Started at high school and did 1.5 to warm up. stopped at truck and took off a layer of clothes and headed into a development close by. Did another 2.75 loops around the development. Easy run and no one was around so it was quite and relaxing.

Enjoyable run and didn't mind the cold at all. I actually like to run in the winter, just hate it when it's windy.

Enjoy your day all and catch up on Sunday.

Drat! Lousy run today. My running partner never showed up this morning because I flaked out and never responded to her confirming email. Then I ran about 2 miles and started uncontrollably coughing and gagging on phlegm. Walked back feeling defeated. I hate colds.

Will try again tomorrow.

It is now snowing outside and only going to get worse. It was 50 and windy yesterday in front of the storm that hit California and now is going to hit us. So it is still dark outside and in about 30 minutes I will get out for an interesting run. Not sure if I will do a 6 mile loop or a couple laps on a 2 mile or 3 mile loop to get my scheduled 6 in. It all depends on how the weather treats me once I get out there. Enjoy the morning everyone.

Hi everyone. I am new to the site but have been lurking. I thought I would join in.

I ran 12 miles today in 2:14:05 for an 11:10 pace! Pretty good run for me. I am training for a half marathon in a little over a month.

Good running to all.

It was snowing when I got out for my run at abou 8:11 or so. It snowed for about the first 3 miles and then stopped. With all the slushy snow on the ground the footing was not the best, so the pace was slower than usual. 6 miles in 53:17(8:52) and it felt good. got slush on my shoe at the beginning of the run which soaked my sock on my left foot and I am glad my foot didn't freeze. More snow is on the way. Have a great morning everyone.

RinkyDink--WELCOME!!! But that kind of run report ain't gonna cut it. Details! We want details!!!

My alarm clock went off too early this morning. 6:30. Bleck! And that's "sleeping in"... Took quite a while to get motivated, but eventually I did make it to the garage so sit on the bike and go nowhere. 30mins. I hate sitting on the trainer...

Quick wardrobe adjustment and out for a run. Our street is still snowcovered, but after that, roads were clear. Did my usual long route. At one point it was pretty neat--I was on a bridge that goes over the bike path. And, on the bike path was my running group! Pretty cool to see them from a different perspective. I can't run with them in the winter due to my work schedule. Run was pretty uneventful. HR was much higher than expected with perceived effort. Enjoyable run. Late in my run it just started to drizzle, but not bad. Got home at 9:15. Had to leave for work at 9:30. By then, it was pouring!

Long run today, and I was glad to see that the weather was back to normal here in California, although it looks like it's gonna start raining again soon.

19 miles
15 @ 8:00 ("easy" pace)
3 @ 7:04 (current marathon pace)
1 cooldown

7:48 overall

It felt pretty good, even running those faster miles at the end. it will be interesting to see how i hold up to doing 19-22, 4 out of every 5 weekends on top of big weekly mileage (well, big for me) - existing injuries (right knee, left achilles) both feel fine, so i guess it's just a question of what breaks next

Similar workout to yesterday - 5.25 miles this time on the treadmill at a nice 'n' easy 8mpm pace. It was stinkin' hot in the gym so I'm gald it was an easy day. A quick 20min core and weight set rounded (or flattened) things out.

The temps are on the rise, should hit the 50s over the next few days. Chance for some decent miles outside, without the hassle of snow and ice but we'll get some wind and rain instead.

Have a great weekend!

greetings this warmer afternoon!

Hi Rinky....nice job on prepping for your HM....i've been looking to finally do one but with an ITBS afflicted left knee, it isn't looking good for right now....

Jensparks - never have completely stopped running, but mileage is at 50% of what it was and has been for 2 months....this seems to be working with my knee - i.e. it's tolerable - and hopefully i can increase as time goes on....

megs - so it is itbs...it sounded like it but then it didn't....guess you see why i'm no doctor....but it's dang frustrating stuff for sure....hope your youth and exercises get you well quickly...sorry about the bowl game loss...

tonya - you da man! well, you know....

have a great rest of the day all....

Hey ya’ll,

Richard, Apple, Phill- Enjoy the rest
Flounder, Baba, Kfuller, Alan, Road Hawk, - Nice runs
4BM, Asics- Nice workouts
Jebba- sorry the run didn’t go well, feel better!
Rinky- nice run, what half marathon are you training for?
Brown- Thanks for the well wishes, I was so glad my doctor said I could still run but he did warn me it won’t get better until I do take time off. I guess I’m just in for about 3 months of on and off pain while running until my half marathon.

I ran 7 miles this afternoon around a 9:10 pace. My left knee hurt from about mile 3 or 4 until the end due to the ITBS. Other than that I felt pretty good though. It’s nice weather for running, about 42* and overcast. During my run I passed this one older man twice on the trail (each time we were going opposite directions) and each time we passed he did a thumbs up sign and said “way to go” the second time. That was kinda cool. I just got home and finished helping my dad move 3 12 foot long pieces of drywall into the basement, that in itself was a workout!

I didn’t feel very good this morning and I’m afraid I might be coming down with something…had a sore throat, headache, and was congested. That’s all faded now, except my headache. I hope I’m not getting sick.

Nice work - MP miles are great at the end of a long run - It gets you used to running that pace when tired. If you really want to spice it up adda 1-2 miles at LAT at the end.

Hi all - Happy Weekend to you all. For me today I had something I vowed never to do again, after finishing DEAD LAST in the National X Country Championships a few years ago. But I was persuaded to run another X-Country race again, in the BHAA series. The BHAA is the Business House Athletics Association, who organise around 25 races over the country and roads, plus a few track races (and a beach race too!) over the year, which are open to runners who work anywhere (in reality they are open to everyone), in the Dublin area. I have run in many of the road races, but this was my first venture out over the country.

This race was over 4 miles on parkland, relatively flat, and the conditions underfoot were pretty good. It was very cold though, and as I haven't run over the country for a few years, I wasn't expecting too much. I wasn't disappointed. I didn't run well and felt very unfit today - I ran poorly, and my time of 35:30 was not pretty. Still, it was an experience, and yet another stepping stone on the road to getting super-fit

Jebba - Sorry to hear you are still feeling poorly

Good runs by many today, and weekenders who earned a rest deserve to put their feet up too.

Next race in the series for me is next Saturday, another x-country, and over 5 miles next time - Gulp!

I ventured out to a nearby state forest with a friend and snowshoed for just over an hour. It was so awesome today, about 35 degrees and sunny. Perfect! There wasn't a lot of powder left, but what was packed down was fairly icy, so I'm glad I had the traction. Looking forward to tomorrow's long run.

Welcome RinkyD (I can't type that word without the dink smiley coming up!) !
