I missed out on posting Friday.. so I will start this at the very start of the day -midnight! Will be spending the day putting away stuff in the yard and getting ready for the storm ( They are saying that is will only be a storm by the time we see it. ) Generator is gassed, tuned and ready, hand pump on the well has been primed,we have an old regular phone to plug in too. I'm thinking that as long as the trees don't topple too much we'll be okay here. Time will tell!

I have been watching CNN. Surprised Anderson Cooper isn't out there in his red rain slicker. I wonder if he misses those days of being blown around on the docks.

Go home to watch funeral of politician that died this week, watch the storm on CNN, do more planning for first week of school.

Nice to see fellow educators up and at 'em.

Bootcamp and yoga classes this morn....my quads & glutes are already super-sore, oy.

The rest of the day will be spent at the property, gardens, and in the yard.
I am glad we aren't in the path of big storms....but I'm totally done with our summer humidity.

Good morning. DH is going to get gas for the generator while i am at work. I went to Target last night and the place was cleaned out. Everything. We do not have tv and i am hoping it is better to not know, haha. We do not have a hand pump for our well, so we are SOL if we lose power. We have not had an electrician come to hook the pump up to the generator. We always think about these things only during storms, LOL. DH is very electrically skilled, so worse case, he could probably do it. Sigh. So not looking forward to this.

ARGH!!!!!! I got to work and realized the car seat is in my car, which means no pre-hurricane errands for DH and Zoe. He said he may take the tractor down to the corner store and see what they have. We really do not need much besides gas (which we can do when i get home) and if we can find propane for our camping stove.

Good Morning,

Zero rain for us yesterday. Today will probably yardwork and relax a bit. Not sure. No running though. Hopefully the Carolinas and NE survive! Have fun and good luck!

I'm almost hoping we get some rain from Irene. Ameriwreck's manhole has been draining through our yard after every rain and they won't do anything about it. Water seriously gushes out of hte ground. Son1 installed a french drain earlier this week. I wanna see how well it works!

Originally Hurricane Irene's track had it coming up the middle of Florida and Georgia. I was very happy. We need the rain. Unfortunately things didn't work out and we are continuing our dry 95+ temp days.

I ran a 7 mile group run this morning. I have the firm's cell phone this week and of course I began receiving alerts one of our communication systems was down. So I called the support desk that handles that system for us and they said they were changing something out. Of course they did not send us an email on the planned outage. So, I was running with a cell phone glued to my ear for about 15 minutes while I spoke to them. After I hung up one of the members of the group chimed in, wonder what they thought you were doing with all that heavy breathing as you were talking to them?

A fantastic day here in Minnesota. My daughter, her husband, and their friends are here for the weekend. We've been out fishing this morning and headed back out shortly. A bonfire tonight and who knows what else... Enjoy your day

Things aren't too bad in North Carolina as Irene is passing. The U.S. Open tournament is live from Winston-Salem. They have winds and the possibility of showers but overall the skies look fine now. John Isner (US) is playing Benneteau (France). Isner grew up near Winston-Salem and went to UGA where he helped them win a national championship in tennis.

The broadcasters for the game, however, are actually in New York and not at the game due to Irene.

Tough game but John Isner did defeat Benneteau today in Winston-Salem. He now advances to the U.S. Open in NY on Monday.

Oh, and I'm talking tennis here, not golf.
