Hi folk,

I put this post on the self-intro thread:

http://www.kickrunners.com/t/9625/boomers-introduce-yourselves/1000#post_2024283

Apologies for the repetition--wasn't sure if the more recent posts show up first or the old ones--and wanted to reach out visibly. Happy New Year, and good running to all!

Welcome back Lioness. You're swimming ability is amazing to someone like me!

Still have some aches and pains after sports massage Saturday but seem to be relocated slightly. Have no idea why. An going to wait till it warms up and I've been moving around some and then go try to jog a couple miles to see what happens. If its not good I'm calling the sports vet.

Check in later, have a good one.

Good spoiler alert Tom. lol

Well, I went about 300 yds running (not swimming) and shut it down. I'm officially injured. Julie is trying to make me appt with our sports doc here in town. Most likely will see his assistant who we have decided is as good or better than he is!! I'll likely still run Knoxville but won't get to race it.

Hi Lioness!

Hi TW, KS and Rip!!

It's a true back-at-it-Monday...........after two days (re running) and two weeks (re working) of slacking, it's back full tilt boogie. Only after 2.5 miles of what was supposed to be a 6 mile TM RAW, my neuroma decided to flare up and got steadily worse until I baled at 4.5 miles. I've been fiddling around a bit with the metatarsal and heel padding, so will put everything back in place for the next run on Wed. and see how it goes. I thought we were supposed to get snow today, so only brought indoor running clothes... turned into a sunny afternoon, so am kicking myself a bit that I wasn't prepared to go outside. Then again, with the TM, if it hurts ... you can just stop.

Have a good week everyone!!

Happy New Year, Masterfuls.... and great to "see" you again, Lioness.

Three miles today. Went to the track after a big breakfast and slogged out a mile, felt awful. Walked one lap, then picked it up again. Two more miles as some flurries made a brief appearance. Three miles total. Strange run, but we're off the schneid.

Good runs, all

Thank you all! Hope all the wounded warriors are feeling better soon!

Tom, sorry to hear of your arthritis. Hope you can find a way around it and be able to run at least somewhat normally, but the pool running is good meanwhile. Also consider swimming. I first tried an open water swim when I had some other running injury a while back, and it's a great second sport.

Hemerocallus, I had Morton's Neuroma in about 2000, and after I got a cortisone shot, it was gone and never came back. Maybe it was the faces i made as the shot was given (darn thing hurt) that scared it away.

KSRunr--sports vet... I like it! Hope you don't need her/ him but if you do, may s/he make you better!

Baba, there are those days. Way to keep on keeping on!

Lately: grateful the moving parts are working. No guarantees they will continue to work but I enjoy the times when I can keep on running--or swimming.

Well the sports vet assistant is going to see me tomorrow morning at 10. SHE is fairly new with the vet and she has gained an excellent reputation in our little corner of the sports world. She diagnosed dw's problem and got her back to running so hopefully she can do the same for me in fairly quick order.

Tom - I'm coming to Knoxville even if I have to crawl that marathon!!

Hi everybody

Woke up to snow snow snow today. Still a holiday I guess since bowl games were on all day. Watched the local team play

another poor team that neither one should have been playing today. Waited until the roads got cleared and went to the fitness

center for an hour on the eliptical. Finally realized I am fighting off another cold and that's why the muscles have been a little more

achy lately. The last one never got me so maybe I can do the same to this one.
