<p>Good Morning,</p>
<p> Up early today since I have to leave for my race in about 20 minutes. Gun goes off at 7:30 and if all goes well, I will have a cold beer in my hand by 8 AM!</p>

<p>beyond that no real plans for today.  Just read my book, and barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers with the family this afternoon. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>We did go see Cars 2 yesterday that was a fun movie.  I enjoyed it.</p>

<p>didn't check in yesterday cuz sis and I camped at the pond...perfect weather, fun times except the neither of us got any sleep</p>

<p>not one minute of sleep, unfortunately, because a frickin' bird [I <em>think</em> it was a common nighthawk] roosted and called ALL NIGHT LONG in our area. *sigh* Nighthawks aren't really hawks, btw.</p>
<p>They are GREAT at eating mosquitoes; but have the most obnoxious call during the night.</p>
<p>(Just as annoying as the whip-poor-wills which used to keep us up when we'd camp in the state parks years ago)</p>

<p>Ran the Peachtree Road Race this morning along with 59,999 others.  Temps were 74 at the start and humidity of plus 70% so it was very warm.  I think I finished in just under an hour.  I forgot my watch so I just ran an even pace and enjoyed the race.  As always I made it a point to get sprayed with holy water at mile 2 by the Episcopal Church running under their sprinkler dispensing holy water as well as making sure I get sprinkled by the Priest. </p>

<p>Going over to the relatives in Grayson for a cookout this afternoon around 3:30.  </p>

<p>    Went to the parade in the next town over this morning. We love that it ALWAYS starts precisely at 9:30, and is down on half hour later at 10:00.  There is always one bagpipe band, and at least one decorated  tractor. . New addition this year was  a truck and trailer from the local (new) tattoo parlor.. The guy was desparate to hand out a flyer to my son ... No not.</p>

<p>   Spent the afternoon at the NH Farm Museum where my dh has a gig each 4th.  He started by reading the Declaration of Independence at the request of the museum director,</p>
<p>     The fresh strawberry shortcake was tasty and it did not rain this year !  Yea.</p>
