I have to train the the research assistants today, ya know, so they can pretend to do my job when I'm gone. And one older woman who is gonna throw off our whole vibe and is gonna make this training an exercise in patience. She is a pain in my a$$. I'm really mad she feels like she so desperately needs to know how to search Pubmed and can't just take the online tutorial; she's the kinda untechnologically savvy person to whom I will have to explain everything 93 times and then she'll just keep asking questions upon questions...bah.

ION, I got my hair cut. I don't think I like it.

morning Moe and all who follow. The friggin train workers are on strike here in Parish- argh- someone is ALWAYS on strike whenever we are here. Luckily I'm walking distance to the Louvre so I'm headed out now to spend the afternoon there. I'll check back in later. Hope your training session goes well Moe.

Good luck today, Maureen! I'm sure your hair looks great!

KJ that is way cool...not the strike, but what you get to do today!

I'm a little tired today. Little Miss I'm Gonna Change Up My Routine and Get Up for an Hour at 3 AM kept me awake last night. Not sure what the deal was there but I hope it doesn't become a habit. I was enjoying this sleeping through the night business.

I'll be running some errands to get ready for my trip to Philly. Not long now!! I may see if I can get a haircut, too. Well, a trim. I feel more shaggy than usual these days. And I need to exchange some moolah, too.

Thanks. Everything's okay, just one of those days that had some unexpected turns and ended up feeling like it lasted forever. That's how things go sometimes. It's now the next day and things should likely be better than yesterday.

Unfortunately, it never changes. DD1 woke me up at 4 am last night and I am completely wiped out this morning. No time for coffee even. Maybe I'll stop on the way to preschool, if I can just get them out of the door.

Scratch

Scratch - I hope today is a better day.

Moe - I don't like my new haircut either. I think it needs to be significantly shorter. Or maybe I just need to actually style it in the morning. But that's just me. I'm sure YOU look mahvelous!

Colleen - you're the most chipper new mom I know (I only know a very few...), now I know why! I hope that sleeping-through-the-night thing does indeed stick!

I have to get through a half-day of training, then drive home from NJ. Shouldn't be a bad day at all.

I don't think I mentioned - I started with a new client last week - in Albany NY. While it's nice to sleep in my own bed, I have to drive 1 hour each way to work. And I despise long commutes. That is, I wouldn't work for this company and live where I live if I wasn't a travelling consultant. So I'm hoping this gig doesn't stretch to more than a few months.

That and I don't like my project manager (biggest. tool. ever.). But I'm smarter than he is (really, most people are), so at least he's fairly easy to ignore. Nice for a boss, eh?

I'm going to stop talking about work and actually go do some.

Have a great day, all!

Thanks Noni! She's been sleeping through the night for quite a while now. It really helps, I find. When she was just new she'd only get up the once, around 3 or so, have her bottle and go back to sleep. So I think I've been lucky. She wakes up with a big smile, too, which just makes my day. She's all wiggly and giggly. What a character.

Finally took my car in to be fixed....cost $0. YAHOO repair is covered.

DS#2 woke up feeling a little sick this morning. I put the thermometer in his mouth and asked DS#1 to monitor it, and let me know what the outcome was. I left for work expecting a call. They didn't call, so I did. DS#2 says the temp is 100 (which is when they stay home from school). Call me a disbeliving mother, but I had DS#1 retake it. Ha, 98.8. He then calls me crying because he doesn't feel good. I sent him to school, little slacker. Of course, he could be really sick and call me to pick him up. Won't happen it is a beautiful day, my children are never ever sick when it is nice out.

No, no, no! It's over and it's a bright new day. Everything is ok. I regret that I got bummed out in public on the boards last night but everyone here was a great friend and helped me feel better. There's someone out there for me, just not her that's all. No reason to give up. Chin is up, smile is on my brave face. Today is going to be good for me. God still loves me and is taking good care of me. My day will come and when it does believe me I'll let you know.

Blessed sleep!!! But weird WEIRD dreams last night. Note that these were three separate, distinct dreams.

1. I had snake bites on my left outer thigh just above my knee and my right outer foot. Um, OK. And another injury/malady that prevented me from running this weekend. (Think I'm a little anxious about Philly or what??)

2. I was walking through an airport or hangar and saw a HUGE ass plane. Biggest plane evah. Then I noticed another plane landing next to it, on the other side of a fence, but it was landing like a helicopter does -- straight down. Then a big tube-like thing attached to it vertically, and out from that cylindrical thing came a Gazillion Star General, so I stood and saluted him. Um, OK.

3. Jack Bauer was saving the world, as usual, but he found out that Karen Hayes was divorced from Bill Buchanan and had allied herself with an unnamed bad guy. She was wearing her wedding band on her left thumb. (Um, OK.) She went to meet the bad guy on an 18-wheeler, so to stop their shenanigans Jack had to puncture the gas tank and then light a match nearby to explode the truck. Not only did it explode, but it completely disintigrated into thin air. Three people were sitting nearby playing ukeleles -- 2 Mexican men and Donny Osmond. They were unhurt.

Yeah.

I am obviously psychotic!!!
