Hey all,

I haven't started the thread in ages.

Fort hose of you who didn't see last night's thread, I ran (if it can be called that) 6 miles yesterday and it was bad, bad, bad. Oh, well. Today is an enforced rest day because I'm training all day and then taking my cowboy and dinosaur out trick-or-treating. I think this dinosaur costume may be my best one yet, and hopefully I'll have pictures to post.

I hope everyone is feeling better if you were feeling badly, rested if you were tired, runs well if you felt that you hadn't, and continues to be well if that was the case already. Don't know if I can spread that blanket out any further!

Ciao, kids.

Good morning, folks. I hope everybody is well today.

First of all, today is the stated last day to submit your personal predictions for participation in the Fantasy Philly thread. So if you want to participate but haven't done that yet, please do it today. Beaker, will you be able to compile a spreadsheet showing all those predictions soon?

To reiterate something I said yesterday, I think I'm interested in running in both the Mercedes Marathon in February and the Eugene Marathon in May. It looks like there might be some minor interest in each of those as group events. Eugene, especially, has been talked about as being our number one spring meet-up point. Certainly Oregon might not convenient for too many people, but I encourage everyone to look into the possibility of meeting out there. What the heck...

Alrighty, I guess that's enough for me. Check in with y'all around lunch time, I guess...

Good morning everyone!

Well, the 4 miles I wanted to get turned into 2.5. My lungs were burning and I was just so post nasal drippy. My FIL gave me a z - pack, so I am hoping I will be feeling better soon.
I am supposed to go out for 5 - 6 this morning with a friend of mine. Maybe that will help me get through it.
DD1 and DD2 are so excited for trick or treating tonight. I've got a winter princess and a black cat.
Have a great day!

Hey all:

Easy 5 this morning with the beautiful stars and planets out keeping me company. Even with the moon out and all the streetlights in my town, the stars were just falling out of the sky. Nice.

As wierd as we all are getting out at crazy hours I ran by a guy this morning out, in the pitch dark, and maybe 5:45 out raking his lawn. Huh?

Very excited for tonight me (Hook), DD (Tinkerbell), DS (Pan), DW (Sneed). Woot!

Litch Tim: Hope he's feeling better soon. If it makes him feel any better you could tell him that when I was in 5th grade my Mom scheduled me a dentist appt to have 4 teeth pulled on Halloween.

Later all.

Morning all!

Have been trying to keep up with everything going on...

Healing vibes for those needed and big ups to everyone getting out there with the races/long runs/efforts. We are quite an impressive group!

The 30s babies are adorable! While I am a baby snuggler (especially the little tiny ones) I am so done. I leave that to the rest of you.

Ok, did anyone watch the PBS marathon program last night? I have two thoughts I was contemplating this morning on the TM (Yes, this morning)

1. I thought it was a little odd that they didn't profile all of the runners only the ones who has problems. Maybe it should have been longer?

2. I also thought that while it was somewhat interesting for me to watch, it really didn't convey the real effort put into running a marathon, let alone Boston. KWIM? I don't know if this makes sense but they almost made it seem too easy. My dh commented that he would be the girl who wasn't able to finish the training who cheered on the sidelines.

Discuss amongst yourselves.......

I have a Tinkerbell and a skateboarder to take trick or treating tonight. They are calling for rain right around that time too.

Good days y'all

Moon Hope everything is ok.

Now, that's just nuts! What is he thinking? All that raking could pull something in his arm and he might have to have elbow replacements. I tell ya' people and their crazy need for lawn care.

Good Morning!

Need. More. Java.

Tough day ahead of me. Taking the new girl out to lunch (paid for by my employer) then I get to hand out treats in the hall during the Halloween Parade. I'm not sure if it's kids that are IN the hospital that will be coming by or children of employees or both? I'm still new there, ya know. It should be fun. I'm bringing my spiderweb cape.

I forgot about trick or treating, I'll have to get my run in on the 'mill after it's all over with.

Tonight I will be taking my banana out trick or treating.

OH and Litch do you have some friends that would come to your house and hand candy out to your son? You know, like reverse trick or treating? It's not the same but perhaps he'd get a kick out of it?

If you have not yet watched the PBS Marathon Challenge, skip this.

I agree with some of the earlier statements. I think that one hour was not enough to do justice to the topic. At 8:05, they start. by 8:10, they are at a 5 M LR, by 8:20 they are at 10, etc. I also think it was a very negative show. Although some of the positive physiological changes were mentioned, I feel that they were glossed over. OTOH, the longest interview segments were the recovered heart attack victim bonking on the 20 mile LR, the fact that nonee of the women lost weight, the people that missed weeks\months doe to injury, etc.

Hi folks!! I finally got to the gym last night, yeah!! Managed some time on the elliptical and then did some lower body weights. Good stuff!

Hey folks, feel free to post kiddo pics, would love to see all the costumes!!!!

Bob i have a spreadsheet for the Philly Phantasy running. I am going to send it to the wonderful LHTim to post for me since I can't seem to get it on in a readable format! So I will get it to him to post tomorrow!!!

Was tempted to skip work today and head to Solar's classroom, sounds like such fun!!!

GUess that is it. Will try and hop on the TM after DH gets home so he can take over with the trick or treaters but shouldn't be a problem, they usually stop around 8pm anyway!

Have fun everyone, good runs to all and healing to everyone who needs it!

The PBS show reinforced my belief that running with a team/group makes things a lot better. I've been reading more and more about the Hansen Distance project and how they do everything as a team. Last night's show was a great example of how this can help everyone reach their goals.

Good morning! Happy Halloween!

I got 7.5 miles in this morning. It was cold and wet, but beautiful all the same. The rain started to change to flurries near the end of my run. Uh oh, time to get the studded tires on the CRV...

I got home from work last night to find in place of my DS a little 3'4" giraffe. His sitter said DS wanted to try on his halloween costume that morning and didn't want to take it off!

I missed the marathon special on PBS last night because DS wanted to watch Thomas the Tank Engine on one TV and Polar Express on the other. Anyone know if it will be rebroadcast?

Diane, WTG on the 6 miles! Crappy or not, you still did it and that's what counts.

(((Litch and Litch's DS))) Were you up with your little seal again last night?

(((eccabex))) Feel better soon! I'm fighting a cold, myself. What's a z-pack? Zinc?

(((Moon))) Hope you're OK!

(((Kris E))) Hope you are feeling better today.

That's it for me so far. Have a great day!
