If memory serves YOU were my first friend back on the old forums. Your friendly ways made me feel welcome and encouraged me on. So if there is any gift I can give you on your special day, it is reminding you that you have a very special place in my triathlon heart. Thank you. And happy day!

A friend indeed. In fact, maybe we were at the same party, you shy one you, because Sam Adams (Mr. Winter, thank you very much) greeted me at the little neighborhood bar and grill.

I am with Thor and Melistic. I remember your encouraging replies to my posts in many years ago. Plus every time I hit a seemingly failure, your words of 'nanakorobi yaoki' comes to my heart.

Happy birthday Bob! You helped me get my first bike, hooking me up with Genie who was selling hers. That truly opened the door to triathlon for me. Always fun to race with you locally, though not often enough. Enjoy!!

Too funny ... as one of my fellow triathletes commented (after i mentioned how my wife was beginning to complain about training volume) .. " ahhhhh another tri-widow"

I echo the remarks of many. I discovered the MS page on the CR site when I was just toying with the concept of learning how to swim (with purpose). The environment you helped create made me feel comfortable enough to post and the encouragement from team LIT gave me confidence to try. So here we are several years later and i'm still at it ... and my wife continues to wonder when i'll get over this 'phase' (hmmm wondering how to break the news )
