Or so it seems!

Just got power back after 2 days "off." We got about 12" of snow on Saturday night but thank goodness it is slowly melting away. I thought we had moved to Canada or someplace really cold! We have a gemerator but it is still a lot of work to keep the house running and cooking is only possible over the bbq. I know know to pick up an electric fry pan for future emergencies- I can make all sorts of food on a frying pan!

We had school- because there is a giant generator there now.. but given the icey yards, dark homes and cold temperatures the town postponed Halloween till Saturday night. It was tough explaining this to the kid I work with at school. He was sure that this would NOT apply to him and he was still going out trick or treating. Tomorrow might be a bit ugly....

Glad to be back in "civilization" again.

Anyone get snowed in ?

That is a lot for your area Meri! Thank God it is melting- I am not ready for snowpants-mittens and boots for 17 in school quite yet! At the very least they are more capable than kindergarteners, but I was counting on another month or so before recess duty got to be brutal.

The kids in my class said there were 10 or 11 cars parked at the town hall on Sunday afternoon for "tailgate trick or treat" and the "police let us have it anyway!" That is usually a large gathering of 40-50 cars but was rescheduled till Saturday officially. I wonder how many families are still up for Halloween as we inch toward T-day ! I won't be here but will leave a bowl of goodies out front. The kids are usually really good about just taking a few.

My sis-in-law and bro-in-law live in CT. 100% of their town is out of power, as are all the surrounding towns. Schools have been cancelled all week. And probably some next week. Roads are also blocked. Sis-in-law and the kids are now down with their in-laws in Philly area. Bro-in-law stayed up in CT just to make sure things don't get worse (burst pipes and all), and also, to call them when the power comes back on.
