Hola! Man, I really wish I could find a half marathon that started at 9 or 10 in the morning! This getting-up-at-3am stuff bites! Anywho.. I'm certainly not expecting to do my best on the event, but last night I remembered that my heath right now is still better than what a lot of other people have - so with that in mind, I'll run the best that I can today.

(holy run-on-sentence, Batman!)

Best of luck to our other racers today. Shake a leg, people!

Moonie, that sounds like it was SO much fun. I'm going to google Warrior Dash to see if they come to Atlanta, in fact.

RIL - Now THAT's an award that is useful! Sweet!

Holy cow, Moonie! That looks awesome! I cannot wait to do the mud run today. How cool is this: yesterday, my bib# for the Haunted Hustle Half was 923. Today, it is also 923. Good omen, no? James is so thrilled too. This should be awesome (yet a bit cold!) - we cross a stream in the first half mile - it is 30 degrees! Woo!

RIL: Ooh.. lucky numbers! Go go go!

Okay.. I was psyched so much, that I signed up for the Warrior Dash in Georgia (about a 2.5 hour drive away) in May. Rawr!

These look like great fun, but I realize from doing Insanity DVD's that I'm "pylometrically" impaired. I've also never been good at rope climbs, etc and admire that skill. Hmmm....a) work on it and then sign up? b) maybe people don't really care??

Hope you got a prize, Moonie!! Mindi--he's part of Multisport Events, but maybe there is some cooperation between the two? I just know he told me to sign up for it....?? Hope it was muddy fun!

I just ran three miles which used to be nothing and today felt like something. I am coughing a bit, but feel so much better. I am always amazed at how much a lack of activity affects my mood. I'm not an addict...nooo.....

Off to get little pretzel/cracker packets for the trick or treaters. (I've done this the last few years instead of candy...only a tad healthier, but a winner with smaller kiddos).

Way to go Bob, Moon, RIL (holy crap!!!), and Ailarie! And Jill! Oops, and RFTL!

My race was today. And that's all I'm saying about it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekends, everyone.

Rawr Ailarie! Awesome.

OMG. That was THE MOST FUN RACE EVER. Seriously. It was FREEZING at the start (literally 29 degrees) and they had waves so we had to wait forevah to start. A half mile in you had to cross a waist deep stream (more like chest deep for me) and I was worried it would be awful for James. Nope. It was so.much.fun. Our friend Jeremy ran with us - thankfully he was tall and able to give James a piggy back across the stream). James ran the entire way and had a total blast. I highly recommend doing this type of race if you've never done it.

You Warrior Runners are just a little bit crazy.

As I look at my mileage for the month, I should have run 4 miles today to bring my total to an even number. But I'm not gonna.

Instead I've spent half the day in the studio, and the other half crawling around on the floor cutting things out for another project. Not a new one, one I've been working on for the kitchen. Probably have another couple more hours to put in in the studio, which I'll get to in another hour or so. I'm actually having a productive day!

Crap. There will have to be a break in the progress to tend to the trick or treaters. It's supposed to be @40° at the start and drop from there.

Thanks for the congrats from yesterday, guys. And further congrats to the rest of you guys who had great races this weekend!

Those mud runs do look like fun. But so far, I'm too chicken sh!t to actually enter one. Some day maybe I'll do it...

Hey all -

Quick check in for me -- I just got home from being in DC all weekend. My sister ran the Marine Corps Marathon today, where she ran a 5ish minute PR -- 3:51:29. It was perfect weather.

Congrats to all the racers and mud runners -- that was definitely a fun race for me this summer -- looks like yours were, too!

Hello gang!

Congratulations to the weekend racers (Ailarie, Bob, moon, RIL, RFTL, and even you Theia, despite you spilling nothing) - all of you did such an outstanding job.

Mud runs - you guys can keep those. It does not look like fun to me, although I do enjoy looking at the photos.

29 miles of running for me over the weekend. 24 on the roads (Sat) and 5 on the TM (Sun). And so begins the taper.

And we have way too much leftover Halloween candy sitting around. It will be like fighting a pack of wolves, protecting the candy from my kids.
