W: 8
Th: 8 w/8x30s strides
F: off
S: 14
Su: 5

= 51 miles, which would be the most ever for me.

My plan for this week, some combo of 4 runs to get 31 miles.

Last week report, 28.3 miles, 3 runs, 2 of which lasted over 2 hours. I'm running everything really easy pace right now (goal of heart rate under 142 bpm) so the 11 miler I did on the first lasted over 2 hours (12:07 min/mile) and the 14 miler took me 2:47:26 (11:58 min/mile). The 3.3 miles I did yesterday was also low heart rate and was 11:07 min/mile pace.

It's a bit cool because in some ways that's similar to my August 2007 which had 60 miles in almost 12 hours of running. One difference though is that August had a mixture of tempo and fartlek running in there, plus my easy run heart rate tended to be about 5 to 7 bpm higher than what I'm doing now.

My plan is actually one I sort of made up, so I guess you could say I really don't have one.

Thanks. I will admit those are planned miles, some times I just don't have it in me and I cut it short and try for the distance again on the next run.

Hi, may I join you? I used to go on CoolRunning, then it moved to Active where it became a pain in the a$$. Here at KR I hope I found a new home.
Is this thread mainly for first-timers? I've run a few HM's in my short (3 year) running career, and I have 3 planned for this spring. I took some time off after quite a long and tiring 2007 season, so still just short runs, nothing longer than 4-5 miles. But soon I have to start ramping up the distance.

Kris, niiiiice mileage, especially in the winter!

Chris, you are most certainly welcome to join in! There are some first-timers here, second-timers, probably even third-timers. We're simply all training for Half Marathons. And this thread holds us somewhat accountable for our training.

What 3 HM's will you be running?

I see everybody plans their week in advance. I can't do that... My schedule is very random, so every day I decide what I can do. I only have a goal for the entire week, but then I try to mix and match. I also don't plan rest days... I just take them when I feel like I need a break...

We all do what we can do Chris. I wasn't able to get my workout in today b/c I wasn't feeling well. Looks like jebba's been sick, too. As long as you have some sort of goal in your head, and it sounds like you do, that's all that matters.

Actually, this is somewhat like I do. I will have a general goal in mind for the mileage, but will adjust as needed for feel and weather. Last week I did 28.3 miles with 3 days of running and usually I like to do 4 days of running. But I rearranged to do 2 long easy runs of 11 and 14 miles so I wouldn't have to deal with cold weather on Thursday and worries about my insulin freezing while sitting in the car at the park.

Welcome, RunningforT3! We've got a mix of experience levels here, so come in and join the fun.

Thanks for the kudos on the miles, but trust me, winter miles are much easier here than summer miles.

Hi Chris and Jebba! Hope you are feeling better and back at it Jebba. Re: planning week in advance - I have my schedule planned through April, but modify it at the beginning of each week based on work, kids, DH travel and life. I'm type A - definitely a planner.
