But but ... peanut butter is full of heart-healthy fat. No need to feel guilty unless you eat it by the bowl!

Last summer when I upped my unsaturated fat intake primarily by eating PB, almonds, and avocados regularly, I lost 7 lbs. (Note to self: do that again.)

About the organic or all natural peanut butters...

If you look at the label, they all should have only one ingredient... peanuts.

With no additives, the ability to change the taste of a peanut is frankly pretty limited.

IMHO, if you were to taste test these against their trans fat carrying friends and throw in a third sample of the organic with a little salt added, you'd get more people choosing the organic with salt.

Try it... I think it makes a big difference in the taste.

Maybe whole foods... The texture was weird, and so was the taste. Definitely not one of the rave reviewers!

I loooooove natural peanut butter. However, I like mine with two ingredients: peanuts and salt. I got a jar once with just peanuts and it was pretty bland. I threw it out.

I always buy the store brand of regular natural PB.

At whole foods I found a line of PB's that do single servings. Which is good if you are me, and can eat it with a spoon from the jar. http://www.paragonnaturals.com/jnb.html
I haven't tried it yet, but next time I get to Whole Foods I'm going to pick some up.

I just saw this topic and wanted to say that I have tried this and really love it but only in certain things. Good uses-smoothies, yogurt or mixed with vanilla soy milk are probably my favorite. Basically I find it works really well in cold food items. Things like oatmeal where the PB melts well-I prefer the real thing. Also in a sandwich I don't think this works well. I uses it a lot for my kids who are PB junkies. They love it on any cereal-they will even eat the Kashi 7 grain puffs if I sprinkle this on top The biggest problem I have is several of my kids friends have peanut allergies and this stuff is like a dust. It makes me really nervous having theses kids in my house. Even a trace amount on the counters where I'm preparing something for them could be a huge issue. Good luck and I'm going to start trying it in some cookie recipes-I'll try and post if I come up with anything good. Edited to add-I also use the Justin's nut butters in the link in the above post. The individual servings are great I always have a stash of these for swim meets or baseball games. The honey one is everyone's favorite.

Frozen Peanut butter cups....

1/3 cups PB2(7 Tbsp mixed with water)
1 container of FF cool whip
4 Tbsp of Lite chocolate syrup

Mix the PB2 with cool whip. Pour into lined muffin cups. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top.
Freeze. Makes 12 servings. (pretty large ones)
I just got it in the mail at work and IT IS AWESOME!! I mixed up one small amount (1 tbs?) and ate it with the spoon. It is soooooooo good. the texture is very slightly off, but i bet if you did not tell me and put it in a sandwich i would never know.

I wouldn't mind trying this to put in oatmeal or to bake with. Unfortunately for me, real PB (aka fresh ground ala Whole Foods) is like crack to me. I break down every so often and buy some, I tell myself I will not overeat it. It never works.

So, i have put it on toast, put it on english muffins, DH ate it in a PB&J sandwich and i made the cool whip dessert/froz PB cups with it. YUMMY.

The good thing is, it is a powder, so you cannot actually devour it out of the container. There is a bit more effort involved

I tally'ed up all the ingredients and divided by 12 (twelve servings per batch) and i got 63 calories per serving. I used a bit more PB2 though than the recipe. DO NOT use Hershey's sugar free syrup, it is vomitous, use the Light one.
