As an old friend of back pain and sciatic issues, I tend to leans towards that as the trouble. How does this relate to you? Well, my chiro explained to me that in addition to a pinched nerve (from a slipped or ruptured disc) causing sciatica, tight hip muscles can too. The sciatic nerve runs right through the big old muscles in your hip. I started going for massages the focused on my hips, hammys and quads, loosened up the whole area. It was like night and day, Iwould literally walk out and mylegs would feel amazing. I know it may not be exactly the area you are describing but it is worth a shot. I find that usually when I describe a pain, the origin of it is somewhere else totally.

I also do think tha if you ITB issues were on your left side and now you have right side pain, you very well could have altered your gait to help the ITB pain and caused somethng else. Ever consider having your local running store analyze your gait?

Totally not an expert but hope I at least gave you some help. Wish I could be of more help but have to stop short of offering to massage the groin for ya myself!!!!
