But it's good for you. Builds character.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;">Sift the flour salt and sugar together. Mix the butter and milk together (with a fork) and then mix into the flour mixture and blend well.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;">Pat out into a 9" pie pan and 1/2 of an inch UP the sides. We use a deep dish pottery one, but I'm sure you could use a square cake pan too.</span></span><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;">Arrange the sliced apples over the pastry.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;">For the topping, mix the 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2 tbsp. flour together. Cut in the 2 tbsp. butter / magarine until crumbly. Spread out over the apples and sprinkle cinnamon, allspice and cloves to taste.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;">Bake at 400f for 35 minutes.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Arial;"><span style="font-size:large;"><b>Food memories:</b> My mom's recipe.
