<p>Good luck to those running Grindstone 100 (probably a few hours ago)!  I look forward to the race reports. I've never run a 100 before, but that one is on my list.</p>

<p>It was a perfect day and night, oh ya and day and night again...lol</p>
<p>the days were 60-70 degrees and nights in the mid 30's.  no clouds.</p>
<p>I went out a little to fast and paid for it later but still managed to beat my time by half an hour from last year.</p>

<p>that was my 3rd Grindstone finish and now i am heading hopefully for my 3rd Beast Series finish</p>

<p>Congrats on the strong finish! I was hoping your weather held out.   I hadn't thought about the 2nd night! In retrospect it seems odd to start the 50 miler at 6pm to all but ensure 2 nights for most runners. It's probably good practice for Hellgate.</p>

<p>Rest up for Mountain Masochist! I'll keep my eyes open for you there. I'm (currently) planning on being at both pre-runs as well.</p>

<p>dingOjim - i put my name in MMT last year but didnt get in, i didnt go on the wait list.  I figured if it was meant to be i would get in right away....lol</p>
<p>I know they say Grindstone is the hardest 100 on the East Coast but to me MMT is harder.  I cant seem to master that one, the rocks just keep on coming.</p>
<p>At least at Grindstone there are miles and miles of beautiful trail with dirt not rocks.  Elevation is higher at Grindstone but i would pick bigger climbs over those rocks anyday.</p>

<p>Mobius - i will be at the second training run for MMTR, the first one is too soon after Grindstone but i like the second one to get my legs working again.  I will look for ya there</p>

<p>Grindstone is definitly a must do for everyone at least once.  The views are amazing, people are great, trails are tough but fair.  You will hurt i guarantee that but it is worth it.  Most people drop out early, my opinion is the first 30 mile are the hardest of this race, if you can get through those only hurting a little bit just push through it and you can make it.</p>

For those who dont know when you finish here tradion is that you have to hug the totum pole that is there to be an official finisher. ( Hardrock has you kiss a rock here we hug a pole )  The three figures are for three finishes here.</p>
