Greatest (blank) movie...

I'm watching "The Longest Day," the greatest war movie of all time. I don't think anyone would argue against calling "The Godfather" the greatest gangster movie of all time. Some might call it the best movie period. But can you pick a "greatest movie" for other genres? 
The greatest western of all time? And the greatest romantic comedy of all time? Comedy? Action movie? Scary movie? Other genre? 
Are there generally accepted "best" in these genres?

Greatest war movie is either Apocalypse Now or The Best Years of Our Lives (which is really a post war movie, but still). 
Greatest musical: West Side Story 
Greatest cult movie: Harold and Maude
