I'm with you on the musical. Apocalypse Now was a good <i>anti-</i>war movie, but I can't stand movies about the military where the soldiers are portrayed as nutjobs. I think you can make a movie about the insanity of war without making the soldiers insane. Like Hamburger Hill.
Greatest (blank) movie...
I'm watching "The Longest Day," the greatest war movie of all time. I don't think anyone would argue against calling "The Godfather" the greatest gangster movie of all time. Some might call it the best movie period. But can you pick a "greatest movie" for other genres?<br><br>
The greatest western of all time? And the greatest romantic comedy of all time? Comedy? Action movie? Scary movie? Other genre?<br><br>
Are there generally accepted "best" in these genres?

Doesn't it seem like everything made in the last 10 years is a rehash of something that came before? There seems to be very little new coming out of hollywood.<br><br>
"Best" is tough. That's what I was getting at. Most people agree on The Godfather as the best of it's genre. I think there are very few movies you can argue top their genre.<br><br>
