Casablanca.

I never understood the appeal of this movie. I think it's because I don't feel the romance between Bogart and Bergman.

Plus it's in black and white. Yuck.

agreed.

Sideways. I thought it was a horrible film. I was so sorely disappointed.

This is sooo true when it comes to men and their not-so-kind women.

Stupid is a choice.

Or something like that.

Maybe I'm reading too much into your post.

Yeah. I think so.

So, how are you today, ASG?

I don't feel that he was being "stupid" at all. The human heart and all of its tradgedies do not follow the laws of logic and thought. Love doesn't make sense.

Besides, all of the events of his life including his tragic relationship with Jenn-nay led up to one incredible, amazing thing.

His son.

What's the stupidy in that?

Now, for me... the movie that has me scratching my head is Trainspotting.

It's NOT funny and I don't understand the people who find it funny. It's bleak, grinding, and painfully desolate to watch. It may be that I have a closer connection to addiction than someone else might, but damn.

It ceased even being remotely amusing when the baby died.

Sure, something good came out of it, blessing often stem from tragedies for those that have a good heart (which he certainly did).

When all is said and done, though, he loved her and she treated him like crap. Basically never gave him much more than the time of day during their adult life and only slept with him once when she had an itch to scratch. Left him for a the life of a junkie when he would have been perfectly happy to be with her from day one on.

I agree that love sometimes doesn't make sense, but she didn't love him. It was totally one sided. His son was what, like 9 before she even let himknow he existed? Really nice of her to cheat a generous, loving, caring person out of the first several years of his son's life.
