Yesterday, I had some time to kill between work and dinner with friends, so I went shopping and went to Sports Authority and found the New Balance running shoes ( link above) on sale for $39. 97!! Also bought a new shirt on sale for $5.99, orginally for $24.99.

This is the place where I found two tops for yoga on sale about a month ago.

So, What has been your best deal on running related items?

best running deal ever? that would be my forerunner 305. I bought it when it first came out, but due to an error at the online store where I bought it I was able to get it at the price of the 205. But that was 2 years ago.

Kimbro - it was $180 on costco.com, and then I had a $50 rebate certificate for signing up for a email newsletter from powerbar.

Joined an area running club for $20. Since then I have won three $25 gift certificates for various running-related businesses and/or restaurants (owned by runners who support the club). I've won them by entering my PR's on their site and then they have monthly drawings. So I've made $55 so far.

Akron Marathon -- I believe the entry fee is $90 and you get a free pair of running shoes (last year it was Brooks), a subscription to Running Times and a nice long-sleeved tech shirt. Last year, someone at work had a certificate for free entry they couldn't use and I was the beneficiary.

Yea, I won't be able to run it this year. It's a week or two before Chicago, which I've already signed up to run.

Akron runs right by my house around mile 23.5 or so. I've run it three times now, including my first. And I agree, it's organized rather well. Enjoyable race.
