Went to bed pretty much right at 10, alarm went off at 4:10 and I hit the snooze bar several times until just a few minutes ago. DAMN!

Time to find the weather report, which will be warm and humid, get my garmin synched up and get out on the roads for 10 miles.

Later.

Morning.

Teacher got injured chasing down a student. Ouch. Workers Comp is making him take today off.

So I guess I get to work with a sub...again.

Hopefully the kid that he tried to chase down will not be here. He was O.F.F. in a majorly way yesterday. All year so far for that matter!

Looking forward to the end of the school day and a relaxing weekend.

todd,

Sorry to hear about the staff member's injury.

I agree about Brad's death being a tragic senseless event. Drinking, fighting, bullying, death.

Brad had always been a hot tempered kid [also a bully]...but had managed to keep his act together enough to move forward with his life.

He didn't deserve to die. And the other young men have fvcked up their lives.

drinking, fighting, death

yup. tragic.

G'morning.

Sorry to hear about your son's friend WTPJ.

My own son got jumped by 5 thugs leaving a bar near his base a few years ago. The intervention of several people in an adjacent parking lot may have saved him from the same fate. He still wound up with a concussion and severe bruising/lacerations to his face and head. People are idiots.

'morning. Working from home today. I realized my son's room was going to get too hot today for the chinchilla, so I spent probably too much of my work day setting up a second cage down here by me where he will be nice and cool.

porty, that is so tragic

Altoids-- you are too funny with the chinchilla. You know you just wanted to hang out with it all day long

I am so sleepy. So glad I will be done work early today. Bad for the bank account, good for sleepy meri. It is hard to have Zoe sick for the first time, but i am glad she made it almost 16 months without being sick!

Last night we were letting it roll around the living room/kitchen in its exercise ball, and even my husband (who professes to dislike small rodent-y pets) was overcome by its cuteness and was baby-talking it!

Good morning.

One more day of 90 degree temps and then we should get into the high 80's this weekend with the possibility of some much needed rain coming in.
