The snow has stopped...finally. 15.5 inches of it fell at the NWS office which is about 5 miles from us. LOTS of drifting has/is going on so it is a mess out there.

20 inches here. We're snowed in. Couldn't leave the house yesterday and probably won't today. Getting to work tomorrow will be interesting.

not sure how much snow has fallen here, but the blizzard warning is on till 6pm

the blowing and drifting are spectacular to look at...unless, of course, you're out driving and/or shovelling in it

porty--I hear you! We're technically in the 'burbs. The main N/S and E/W roads are still county roads. Meaning they are narrow with ditches. Maybe we'll see a plow or salt after everything else is cleared. I can see the E/W road from my kitchen window. WTF people are doing flying down that road during a snow storm?! And lord have mercy when you go off the road 'cuz you are stuck there 'til everything clears.

It was raining when I headed to the gym. On my drive home it was switching over to snow. We already have about an inch. Predicted 2-4inches.

It was raining/drizzling here most of yesterday.

Mom and I chose to skip the Badger Hockey game last night due to potentially dangerous conditions which would occur by the end of the game...and we were VERY smart in doing so!

Loads of folks in ditches overnight!

In fact, the Dane County Sheriff dept warned that only accidents with injuries would be on tap for rescue ops. Yes, stranded indeed!

DH just came in from working thru the drifts and end-of-driveway-chunks with the new snowblower. He said, "WOO! I'm glad we bought that thing! Even *it* struggled in some of the deep heavy stuff at the end of the driveway."

Snow seems to have stopped; but winds are steady state 25, with gusts up to 40mph now.

Guess we'll be going out to do the driveway again, and again, and again!

Good morning all. Wow, that's some snowstorm some of you are dealing with. We did get some rain yesterday and last night, but no snow here. I'm sure the mountains got plenty, though. Our geriatric Lab woke DD and I up at 5 am. When you gotta go, you gotta go. I never went back to sleep (no surprise). So I got up and got both woodstoves going and did my leg strength workout. Now its laundry and general housekeeping stuff. DD is still asleep and the old lab is snoozing too. Had a great run with the running club yesterday. Beautiful weather and perfect road conditions. Well, off to check the laundry. Have a good rest of the day.

Edited to add: I got some great unexpected news. Our favorite Marine (DS) and his girlfriend will be here for Christmas. He's been out to sea since May and we didn't think he'd get back for a few weeks yet. WAHOO!!

Good morning. Cold and getting colder here. Got in from work around 4:30 so got about 3 hours sleep before Church.

Temps will fall all day with strong NW winds but little to no snow expected. At 6pm I'm going to a benefit for toys for tots.

Just finished a McDonald's Big Breakfast and now going to bed for a nap.

For Viking fans, I don't think you are going to get your game in this week as at least part of their Stadium dome has collapsed.

Hello from the Atlanta airport!!!! We fly out in the morning. I had a nasty fall last night during my race and walked 4 miles to the finish to take an official 00K finish. I thought I had broken my arm, but a runner there is an ER nurse and came to my hotel this morning (how nice????) and said it was just a bad bone bruise. It was freezing rain on us last night, so i was not terribly too upset to finish a few miles early, just did not want to be in such pain.

I am glad too, Altoids. I was really scared. Could I work with a broken arm? How would I get to work? OMG, so scary. It was so cold that i think that made it more painful and stiff. Can't pick Zoe up :(

Hi, glad you are allright. Sounds similar to my fall about six weeks ago. Ended up with a severe bruised left elbow and arm bone. I'm 90 to 95% better but still can't quite stretch the left arm out all the way.

Hope you get out allright in the morning. I know a lot of flights tonight have been delayed due to the weather.
