Morning!

Happy Birthday to your DD, HJ!

Sorry you didn't get good sleep, meri. I was awake at 3 and didn't go back to sleep, but the alarm goes off at 4, so I didn't lose much...

It's snowing here at our house, we had about 1.5" when I left. Maybe a bit less.

I got up just before 4, dressed, made coffee and oatmeal, woke up the SO. We were eating breakfast watching ABC's World News Now, when bloop! the power goes out. Sigh. So, we call the power company, and apparently we're the first to report it. We are asked to check our breakers I know, they have to do that, and asked if our neighbors have power. My SO lets them know we can't see anyone from where we are.

I finish my oatmeal and coffee, and head out for work. About 2.5 miles down the road, they have power. They're probably with a different power company (there's a couple in the area) and there were no obvious signs of damage to the wires anywhere I traveled between my house and the first house showing signs of power. Probably the damage was in the other direction. I don't know if the power is back on yet or not. It's our first major power outage of the winter I think! That is a wonder right there. We usually have several over the course of a winter.

I hope everyone has good days!
