DS's team won their final game of the season 4 - 1. They were down 1 - nil in the first half and came back to win. DD's team won by forfeit. the other team just never showed up. So they played a scrimmage game against each other to end their season.

Time to sort through the pictures I took this season and see if I can come up with some top shots again.

Have a good day everyone.

Sounds like a great day yesterday, porty :)

I bailed on my race. After 24 hours into the 48 hour race i had 75 miles, a very upset stomach and the weather turned very cold and wet. Turns out, right before i left, the race volunteers told me all the food, including the specifically vegetarian food they had, was fried in bacon fat and I must have known that (that was their words). Um, what the eff?? I was horrified and so shocked I could not even say a word. No wonder I was so sick to my stomach. I had not eaten meat in 18 years. I was just shocked. I am happy with what I did and happy to have come home last night, MIL coming this week and Zoe's bday party (OMG!) is next Sunday. So much to do.

It's ok. I am not upset about my race, no regrets at all. Except eating from the aid station :( I am really happy with how far I went in 24 hours, and was well ahead of where I was last year.

Wow, Meri! Great job on 75 miles. I can't believe that bout the bacon fat. WTF?

This morning at church the children show what they've learned in RE (religious education) all year. DS's class will sing a song, and DD's class will give the opening convocation.

After that, we're going to the Renaissance Fair. Or is if Faire? ;)

I think it is Faire, LOL. Have a great time.

DH was surprised I was not more upset about eating the bacon fried foods, but really, what can i do? i cannot turn back time. I am just horrifed. I am just surprised that people buy vegetarian food and then cook it in bacon, they just do not understand. One volunteer also offered up to pick chicken out of the chicken soup for me, LOL.

I hope you write to the race organizers and explain the definition of vegan. Seriously. I bet a bunch of those folks haven't a CLUE!

....just like the wait staff who haven't been trained/informed as to which of their establishment's menu items are vegan/gluten-free/nut-free, etc etc etc....
