We only have a dusting of snow here .. but I LOVE that- pretty, wintery .. yet no hassle, no shoveling, no slipping ! We went to the 5pm service last night. Lots of people and lots of carol singing... not for me -still hoarse. Then we went off to the gathering at our friends house. It is the second Christmas since one of our very dear friends died.. so it is a somewhat poignant gathering without him.

My kids followed their tradition and slept on the floor in sleeping bags in DS room upstairs. At 16 and 14 I thought they would abandon that but it is also cool to know they are still best friends! ... It was a reasonable 8:30 for stocking opening and then presents, followed by a delicious breakfast. I even made homemade cinnamon rolls (prepared yesterday.. kept overnight in the barbeque outside - "auxiliary refrigerator") YUMMY.

The kids were hired to feed a neighbor's pets this week so I walked up there with DS and Louie ( my dog) after breakfast. We followed a logging road back into the woods for a nice long hike. It was very pretty in the woods today. We even rousted a partridge up into a .. pine tree!

I have conned DH into barbequing some pork for dinner so all I have to do is make a salad and heat some rolls... Pies are made.. and I tried a new recipe for cranberry pomegranate sorbet that is SO yummy ( It's on craftzine.com ).

Merry Christmas all!
