Happy MLK day. I have the day off since it is a bank holiday. I can't sleep for some reason now. Normally I am fighting the snooze button and today I am up and ready to get stuff done. I am considering bundling up and heading out for a run now. No major plans except maybe get the garage picked up/organized again since all the Christmas decorations are still piled up in it. I really need to get those in the attic.

Yesterday's games were pretty good. Have a good one everyone

g'morn and Peace to All on MLK day

DH has the day off; but I have an all day ass-and-mind-numbing inservice today. *gak*

Fortunately, I'm not presenting at any of the sectionals.

Unfortunately, none of the sectionals have anything remotely to do with my job.

Fortunately, I get to spend 3 of the hours collaborating <eye roll> with fellow reading instructors.

Unfortunately, they all drive me insane....so it will be 3 hours of torture.

Fortunately, I get to go back to my building after lunch to work.

Unfortunately, one of those insane ladies works right next to me, and WON'T SHUT THE FUCK UP

<she's an aileen-type: nuttier than a fruitcake>

Fortunately, I can usually ignore her and/or tell her that I'm swamped.

Unfortunately, she doesn't understand GO AWAY without repeated reminders.

Fortunately, I'll be retiring at the end of this year and will never have to suffer through this again.

Unfortunately, I *will* have to suffer through it today.

Fortunately, the weather dudes say that today we'll get 3-5" of fresh powder for my snowshoein'

Unfortunately, I have to drive home in it at rush hour.

Fortunately, my occult blood labs came back negative.

Unfortunately, the three other labs are still busy growing, and HOPEFULLY finding a bacterial or parasitic reason for my 6 weeks of multiple-diarreaha episodes per day. (I am miserable....can you tell?....)

*sigh*

crap! it is a bank holiday? ugh. I needed to cash a check today to pay the movers who are bringing some of my grandfather's furniture this afternoon. Argh. Well, in good news we have preschool yoga this morning and Zoe and I have been practicing all week :)

Morning.

I want/need to get out for a run this morning. In any case it will be a slow run. We picked up more snow last night. *sigh* Just an inch at the most but it will just complicate things as they never plowed from the previous 'light' snow.

Enjoy the day...if you can.

Good morning folks!

I'm back from my trip to Oriente...it was 16 hours driving there and fortunately I was able to break the trip up into several legs. I got accomplished what I needed to and am glad to be back home. I added another 3 lbs. on during the holidays, so it's time to get my butt running again.

Have a good one.

Good Morning all,

Hang in there Potty and Altoids.

Went to the gym today. I'm trying to take it easy and not stess the hammy any more than necessary. I did do a light warm up on the ellipical then hit the weights. Did backs and tri's. Tomorrow is chest and bi's. Unlike my brother in the south Cities, I don't trust myself on packed snow or ice lately.

We're having a heat wave today, 29*.

Happy trails,

Extra hugs to porty and altoids.

And good to see you back, gilberto.

I had a glutinous weekend of delicious foods and desserts and wine. The scale this morning is not happy, but it was totally worth it. Back to the dietary grindstone today.

left school at noon

gut issues + severe weather conditions [high winds, heavy snowfall, blowing-drifting on east/west roads] = pissed off porty enough to call in 'sick' for the remaining half day of inservice.

"<meh> What're they gonna do, FIRE ME? <meh>" says the woman who has approximately 1,300 hours of sick leave.

the back roads which I travel were SO bad...how bad were they?...that it took me 2x longer to get home

Oh, Porty, are you totally devastated to have missed the rest of inservice day? I know you were really looking forward to that.

yoga went well. Zoe and I have been practicing every day. There was another new baby there, so that was fun. We are still waiting for the movers, they are at my grandfather's apt loading everything up, but spent like 10 minutes on the phone with me going over the charges which i already knew about, so i will be steamed if they run over! LOL. I think today is going to be a no nap day for Zoe again, I cannot put her down now knowing they are coming soon. I am bored. LOL. Zoe is feeding the cat cat treats. She is really obsessed with feeding the cat.

ok, Zoe is napping. Whew. You think she will sleep thru the movers? anywho, they are/were supposed to call me when they left my grandfather's apt. They got there at 1pm. Could it possibly take almost an hour and a half to move 4 dressers and 2 night stands? With an elevator? I really hope not, cause I am paying per hour. Let's hope they are on their way!!!

nah, my cat does not seem to gain weight. I leave her food out 24/7 and she just grazes. I think Zoe ends up playing with the food more than feeding it to the cat. The other day she was crouching down trying to cram some tofu on her fork in the cat's mouth. The cat was NOT pleased.

Oh and the movers still have not left the apartment. Are you freakin kidding me it is taking 2 hours to load up 4 dressers and a couple night stands? My grandfather's caretaker is still at the apartment helping us tie up loose ends and says they were very professional and wrapped everything up, but still!!!!!!! This is going to cost like twice what I thought it was going to :(
