Thanks Tim and everybody! Good luck to you, as well.

I had a schedule change though .... instead of Surf City, I'll be running the Kaiser Permanente Half in San Francisco (NorCal instead of SoCal)

Run strong, Boomasters!

Well...this is a unique race...set up in loops.....the goal is to run as many loops as possible. The max is 50 miles...

Here is the link...DanMan

The trails are very tough...

So, my goal is to run 18-20 miles (last year I did 20 miles) of the marathon course.....but since I will be running much slower than usual (no racing)...I might be able to finish more than 20....we shall see.....who knows...maybe 26.2??????

It should be loads of fun...

Good luck everyone. Tim, that race sounds like a blast.

ksrunr, a few weeks after a marathon in which you didn't completely empty the tank is prime time for a big 10k PR. Go for it!

Hi Alan

I'm looking to go 1:38. Train through race to Napa on March 2. Is Jim 24315 running too?

Good luck and let's hope the rain (and wind) stay away. Have fun!

I did run.... although only the 5K which I was thankful for...... there's not too many days in So Cal that are bad running days, but yesterday was one of them. There combination of lower than normal temps, rain heavy at times, the driving wind and having to park a long ways away from the start and finish did not make for a typical So Cal winter race!

No pancakes at the finish except for the people that skipped the race and went to IHOP..... the surf bands played and I'm sure that the beer lines were short..... but I opted for my one set of dry clothes and a nice warm ride home.

Great job SLOJim, it was really pouring and windy yesterday so you had guts to go and do Surf City 5K. I kept thinking about you, Sherie, and Cashmason at Surf City while I slogged through Redondo 10K (no PR, but close ). I'm glad you made it home ok, the roads must have been scary to drive on too.

I heard that Cashmason snagged another PR yesterday (but of course he won't write a RR).

I was thinking about you running Redondo....... I've run that race many times and enjoy the party atmosphere .... usually a great way to start Super Bowl Sunday with the big crowds of runners and spectators. But I guess it wasn't a good day anywhere in So Cal to run or race!

hey SLOjim, yesterday's Redondo 10k was not the party scene as you remember it. The wind and rain kept away lots of folks. There were guys packing up those moveable metal railings at the finish around the time I finished the 10K. There were NO lines at the portapotties! I didn't make it near the beer garden 'cause I had to get home (and the wind was coming from that direction), but probably lots of free beer for those insane enough to stick around.

I did fine, I'm a "mudder". 30% body fat does keep me warmer than most folks. The little skinny girl next to me never stopped shivering.

Here's the race report (and I mentioned you ):
http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/sho...830#post572830
