So this weekend was the last tasting of wheat beer. We had Capital Brewery's Bockfest and it was fantstic but I know for sure that my tummy troubles are caused by wheat.<br><br>
It started out as a normal day with out wheat products and by the end my stomach and heart burn were so miserable I was in tears. The sad thing is I didn't even drink that much, I couldn't.<br><br>
So long my friend and hopefully I will see you in the form of a Fat Tire once a year.<br><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><br><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif"><img alt="sad2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad2.gif">

I feel your pain. Wheat beers have to be among the best. Especially those Belgiums. Sorry. But hey, not everything in life is easy, so get out there and find a new love, or resort to a little tried and true Fat Tire. Wish I could say, "Meet me down at the 'Dane'... I'll help you find a new one!"

I just grabbed some New Glarus Snowshoe and it's pretty tasty. Don't cry about it too much as there are so many other good brews around.<br><br>
Even though I'm 98% German, I hate the taste of Weis or wheat beers. Can't stand the taste. I go along with my gf's dad's rule that there shouldn't be anything floating in your beer.<br><br>
How many Madison or near-Madison peeps do we have on here? Enough to meet at the Dane for a few brews?

You didn't miss much about Bockfest. It was the worst I have ever been to. It was maxed out at 2500 people with people waiting in line for over an hour. I had VIP passes so got to use the special door but it still took me 45 minutes to get my first beer and over 2 hours to get my Blonde.<br><br>
The lines were horrible the lines for the bathroom were worse! I will try again next year but if it's as bad I wont stay long I don't think.<br><br>
The beer was fantastic though.

Consider too that you could be having a reaction to the hops in the beer, even if a traditional wheat would not have much. A friend of mine had to give up beer for the very reasons you describe. Does this happen when you have a non-wheat beer?

I wish! I was a Madison alumn and the Dane is my favorite place but now I'm near Chicago! I'll be there for the mad city marathon though and IM WI, and I'll be at the Dane! (probably not too many beers before the races though)

Yeah, no go on the 30s party for me either. I did however make it a goal to do an Ironman before I turn 30 - and I want IM WI to be the first.<br><br>
I'm also not in a local tri club. As soon as I get some time in the pool under my belt I think I'll join. Headhunters scares me as well. I wanna say Fleet Feet or that other tri store in Middleton has teams (Endurance House?)? Maybe we should start a Madison KickRunners Tri team?<br><br>
I'll also be at the Madison Marathon, but just doing the half as I'm planning to do the Twin Cities marathon. You can also count on me to watch the IM WI every year until I do it so maybe meet ups at one of those? You guys doing any of the local running races?<br><br>
Going back to the beer - just go to the West Woodman's beer section. There's something there for everyone. I swear I spend a whole afternoon there trying to decide which beer to get.

I like the Idea of TEAM LIT mad city chapter!!<br>
I'm planning on doing the Mad City 100k at the Arb in april. A few tune up tri's then IM Wisconsin come September. I always seem to find out about the local races the weekend after they take place!!<br><br>
Beer: Excellent, I'm fairly new here, I haven't yet found the local beer palace. Sounds like Woodman's is the place???
