Who's seen this movie?

We watched in on Saturday night...what a great film. The story was convoluted and confusing (so was the book), but the Afflecks nailed Boston in a way I've never seen on film before. Those were real neighborhoods and real people. The places and streets look like that.
Sure, it wasn't the fancy high-rent districts...but it's not what most of Boston is like anyway.

And by and large...that's what people sound like too.

I was very impressed.

we watched it on Pay per View. The story line is good, but it's about missing children and corrupt cops. So it's not a walk in the park (or the Common ).

And the language is pretty rough.

OMG I was just going to post about this movie! We watched it last night. It was really good.
I like movies that make you think. Okay sometimes I do.

We had a great discussion afterwards. I don't know what I would have done to be doing the "right thing."

We liked it - although imo the movie should have ended about 3/4 of the way through. I think they went a little too far in the end (I won't give details as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone)... I get what they were trying to do/say, but I think it would have been powerful enough without going that extra step.

It seemed more along the lines of a European film than an American film, and I mean that in the most complimentary way. Didn't hit you over the head but made its points very effectively. And felt very real.
