awww, what a great post to follow! she probably makes all things more wonderful - even tofu.

I'm predictable in that I like pumpkin pie - but homemade pie, everything from homemade crust, to real pumpkin puree to make the pie. and real whipped cream. I do love pecan pie also, but my mom and I are the only ones who like it, so I don't generally make it because that means we'll both either overeat it so as not to go to waste, or I'd end up throwing leftovers out and that is just a waste of good (and expensive) pecans.

With only working two days this week, I SHOULD have plenty of time for running, but who knows what will really happen. My brother is arriving tomorrow from MN, so the week might get busy with various unplanned things.

My favorite Thanksgiving Day dessert is my grandmother's home made vanilla ice cream, but since Gran has been gone for going on 14 years, it's just one of my favorite memories. I used to have the job of crushing the ice in a burlap bag with a tamper or a sledgehammer when I was but a lad. Had to earn it!

I have a 5k race on Thursday and will have to wait for the forecast to decide if I'll be racing it or running it. I'm going to prepare as though to race it.

Monday..............................6.............................5.0 slow with 1*200m stride.

Tuesday.............................0.............................4.0 slow with 2*100m strides.

Wednesday........................4.............................6.0 slow with 1*200m stride (uphill)

Thursday............................9.3 inc 5k race........7.8 inc 5k race.

Saturday.............................Adjust as needed...9.9 with hills

Sunday...............................Adjust as needed....0

Total Plan...................30

Execution....................32.7

My favorite is my mom's pecan pie. I absolutely love it. But I have to add that I haven't had more than a sliver in years. I found out how caloric that stuff is, and decided it's just not worth it. I'm not a big dessert eater anyway, but that's one I do really like.

Finally, on to taper.

Thanks for another week, JJJ!

I'm not a baker at all and without family around, the few desserts we eat are mostly bought. This time of year, DH and I are both partial to a nice pumpkin pie with real whipped cream.

This week's not looking very good weather wise, with temps barely over freezing and lots of rain in the forecast, so I'm expecting some long TM slogs will be had.

Thanks 3 J's We like pumpkin pie with real whipped cream. We also stopped with the pecan, too sweet. Proto Sun looks like she is loving that mousse. Maybe we will take a look at that, crustless could be healthy.

Thanks JJJ. Not much of a fan of desserts, so I have to give your question some thought.

As for my week, I think I'm going to just focus on being thankful, and rest up a bit. DS has made a near-miraculous recovery, so it must just've been a very mild case of mono. We're all very happy that he'll be able to join the rest of the family for dinner on Thursday.

All this talk of homemade pecan pie is driving me crazy! Grandma/mom's was the best and ever since, it seems like someone always brings store-bought and I won't touch it. Someday maybe I should try making it because as you know, I love to cook.

I'm a pecan pie fan, too, but rarely have it. Desserts have never been a focus at our clan gatherings, probably because we don't have any good bakers (but we do have great cooks so we load up on turkey and potatoes and dressing!)

I have a plan, but don't mind if I skip a run or two this week.

Monday: rest...........................rest
