I'm heading out for a run. Not sure how far, depends on how things hold up.

Have a great day people. Going to be pretty quiet here, as we aren't celebrating till Saturday with Dh's family. We already cooked the turkey, because the [gas] oven is right next to the dining room door and the [oil based] poly is highly flammable. We'll hopefully be getting 2 more coats of poly on the floor in there today, and I'll be working in my studio.

QODY: I was actually thinking about this a lot the last couple months. Besides the obvious, Dh, family, friends, being as healthy as I can, I am grateful for my studio. Both for the equipment (my dad and brother are responsible for building 3/4 of it, so when I work down there I can't help but look around and smile and think of them), and having the skills to make stuff that people are willing to buy.

Now that I've been laid off again, working down there gives me something positive to focus on, and purpose every day. And it's fun.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I've got a bit more downtime this morning than I expected to have, thanks to a delayed flight out of SFO that caused Joe to miss his connection in Houston. He got another flight easy enough, but now won't be here until 2pm (was supposed to be here at 11ish) and it will be about 5 before we get to my parents. Not sure yet if we will miss dinner, but knowing my family there will be plenty of leftovers!

Happy Thanksgiving all. Did my turkey trot (which confirmed I am no where near racing shape), and had fun. It was a cross country course and we had 2" of rain on Tuesday, so I ended up muddied and bloddied. Saw a lot of friends (many walking - it was a fundaraiser for a scholarship fund in honor of a friend who was killed last year) and had a good time.

May you all travel safe and have lots of good eats!

Happy, happy everyone!! Hope all the turkey trotters (Ail, Tim and who else??) and and globe trotters get to your finish lines safely and well.

Sherpa C's parents are coming for a small meal tonight...they are bringing it...yay!!! :) I am so happy for that. Chinese food...I love that even more. Fun and easy. His family is also Norwegian, so they are bringing aquavit as well...hahaha! Love it.

My dad's side of the family is Native American but they either practice or completely not at all--there are always options for thankful festivities in the year (solstice, harvests, pow wows) due in large measure because of my aunt. Traditional Thanksgiving has its controversies with Native peoples, but I talked to her this morning and she said, "I look at it this way. Thanksgiving isn't ven about what we have, but what we can share with others."

I loved that and will go into today with that spirit.

May you all have a peaceful and healthy Thanksgiving...

Great racing weather here in Mississippi. Our family rocked it. 5 racers / 5 podium finishes!!! I ran a PR 19:54. First ever sub 20. Good for 7th OA / 1st AG M40 - 44. My brother won his AG, my SIL was first OA Female. My dad was 2nd in his AG and my DD was 3rd in her AG.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Congrats on the PR, Tim! And also to the rest of the Tim family. And congrats on the race to Tim in CT too...

I ran 4 easy miles today. Beautiful weather. Would've been a nice day for a race, but I decided I didn't want to push myself too much. 4 easy miles was just perfect...

Happy Thanksgiving all. I am thankful for each of you as well.

Nice work Tim! You rawk!!

I ran a 5K with the family. It is a huge race and parking was a challenge, so I dropped them off then ran to the starting area. The bad news was I never found them! :( I finally caught up with James almost a mile into the race and he asked me to run with him - OF COURSE! It was a hilly, challenging course, but I pushed him hard and he had a great attitude. Finished in 23:48. Rock star. Jake and John were close behind right around 28 minutes. It was really, really fun.

Now I am prepping turkey (ick) and making Missy's pumpkin cheesecake. My mom is going to LOVE it. :)

Way to represent the 30s all of you Turkey Trotters! Special kudos to Tim for smashing through the 20 minute barrier!

Hope you all get lots to eat today and have fun with your families. Safe and successful travels Moonie!

We're hosting my sister and another family here this afternoon, then going over to another friend's house for desserts and drinks later on this evening. Should be lots of fun.

Greetings all!

Tim - Jeesh, your family is ALL fast! Sweet cleanup of the awards! :)

Rawr for Turkey day events or personal runs for no other reason than the joy of doing it!

Rawr for (by now) Moonie arriving to see Bard!!!

I survived my HM without injuring the ankle again, so I am immensely pleased. (I actually started at the VERY end of my wave, as I had a sudden fear that I'd start up, roll the ankle, and then be trampled by a bunch of people in a domino-fall-down effect)

I was about 13 minutes slower than last year, but considering my lack of running for the last 5 weeks (cold + ankle issues), plus purposely running the first 2-3 miles ridiculously slow to test out the ankle, I'm actually okay with that.

I've cleaned up (yah for an epsom salt bath for really tight leg muscles), and made Mom's delivery. She was actually there, so it sort of spoiled the surprise, but I guess it's all good. I'm now in the process of eating my own plate of T-day dinner (which turned out much better than I expected! self-rawr!) and after that, i foresee a LONG nap via a self-sacrifice to the couch monster!

I hope each of you have a wonderfully relaxing and heartwarming holiday!
