<span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><b>1. Why do you run?</b></span></span><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;">I run because after losing weight without exercising for several months, I could no longer reduce my food intake and walking took too long for essentially the same benefit from a weight loss standpoint. Now I run because it allows me to eat more. I love to eat <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"> Sometimes I enjoy my run, usually if I have company, most of the time it is something to get through. I may have experienced that “runner’s high” once. Maybe.</span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>2. What is your greatest accomplishment?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Hm. I suppose I’m most proud of getting my Private Pilot’s license in 1994, even though I haven’t used it in several years. Then again, recently, I’ve been proud of my persistence with running.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>3. That’s difficult.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>7. What is the greatest advice you have ever received?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Regarding running: slow down.</span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">In life: Don’t sweat the small stuff.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>8. What do you wear running? favorite outfit?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">So far, in warmer weather my favorite has been my running skirt (pink), and any shirt that doesn’t have a tag somewhere that chafes, or a neckline that bothers me. I love my Injinji toe socks for longer runs paired with Wright double-layer socks.</span></span><br><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">In colder weather I wear running tights (preferably the ones that don’t want to head south). The ones I have from Asics or Sugoi seem to be the most comfortable. And any long sleeve tech shirt that isn’t a turtleneck or mock-T, my ratty old cotton sweatshirt with a poorly patched hole in the sleeve and a headband to keep my ears warm.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>12. What has been your favorite race?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">I really liked running the 2nd half of the Vermont City Marathon, but have only done it once. There’s beer during the race! I loved running the Hartford Half because I was with a friend, and there are a lot of people playing music, either live bands or with stereo systems. So, I guess it’s a toss-up.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>13. Do you have a goal race right now?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">No, I need to get one, but there aren’t many during the winter months around here.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>14. What makes you happy?</b></span></span><br><span style="color:#000000;"><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Arriving home always makes me happy. Spending time with friends can also be fun. I most enjoy spending time relaxing with my SO, reading an especially good book, eating good food and drinking good wine. It’s great when all those things can be combined <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"></span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>15. I visited 17 countries and I’d do it again in a heartbeat.</span></span><br><br><span style="font-family:Verdana;"><span style="color:#000000;"><b>16. Hi Gingerbread - thanks for a nice POTD thread. Did you travel the world in your own private plane?

Hi, Mr. OSValooney <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Smile"><br><br>
No private plane, I always rented the planes, plus I didn't get my license until after all the world traveling...

Oh, well, I really loved Ireland, but also New Zealand. I'd visit Thailand again too. That's a difficult question, because every country has something I liked. Well, I didn't spend much time in Pakistan. Just 2 hours waiting for the next plane...

Bring them with you! Requires more planning, of course.<br><br>
Thanks, HP! I like your adopted country but everywhere has changed since I've been there.<br><br>
OOO! I forgot, I also liked Malta, but I was there in 1999 with my SO. I highly recommend it as a place to visit.

I didn't know you were a pilot. That fits your personality though. You're a high flyer in my book.<br><br>

Hey! I didn't see nearly as much of the south island as I wanted to. Most of my time was spend in Dunedin. We've got to remember this.<br><br>
I didn't know anyone else who wanted to go and had the funds to do it. They were all in college (suckers! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.kickrunners.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">)<br><br>
I agree, I wish I hadn't missed so many the last few weeks.
