Another weekend of missed workouts. My house has to have priority this year. I just can't imagine doing this yard work in the brutal heat of the summer. Lucy bought 3 more palats of sod so we had to get them in before the rain. We did, but just barely.<br><br><img alt="" src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/imfl03/Palatsofgrasssmall.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"><br><br><img alt="" src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/imfl03/Dirtylaughingsmall.jpg" style="border:0px solid;"><br><br><img alt="" src="http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p50/imfl03/Alltogethernow.jpg" style="border:0px solid;">

Son and I will have about a week of "cross training" as soon as things dry out a bit. Thinking mid-May. A couple summers ago we moved 18yds of dirt, trying to fill in the low spots that flood. The flooding gets so bad that the kids used a Little Tykes pool as a boat. Yah, real Tom and Huck Finn... That first 18yds did make a dent in the flooding, but has settled and we're still getting some flooding. We think another 18yds should finish it out.

Maybe it can count as a weight workout.<img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Hmm, let's see if I understand this correctly. My coach misses workouts to do yard work.<br>
I on the other hand, skip the yard work to get my workouts done.<br>
But, I must confess. My yard is already full of grass and I pay someone else to cut it.<br><br>
BTW Sheldon, your yard is looking good.

now that I can finally see the pictures, I can say that looks awesome, great job!<br><br>
(I will admit that seeing all that green this time of year kind of freaks me out. Then again, I'd prefer running outside when it's 40 to running outside when it's 70)

I didn't miss the workouts because I wanted to, trust me. The palats are 135 each and if they get wet, they are almost impossible to work with. The weatherman said it was gonna rain on Saturday afternoon, which left me Sat morning to get them down. I finished with the last palat at 14:30 and the rain started at 14:35.<br><br>
In a month or so I can cut it and really see what it looks like.<br><br>
I'm thinking about chipping the rest of the yard. Although the grass is nice, it's gonna cost 2 arms and half a leg to water. <img alt="sad.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/sad.gif"><br><br>

I've had runs like that....<br>
go out, cloudy.....rain "imminent"<br>
Then, right as I get out of the shower and am dressed....<br>
"BAM" thunder and even lightning some times.<br><br>
I always feel like such a stud when that happens, cause I got my run in before the weather. <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"><br>
That, then my colleagues all look at me weird.

Beautiful work! We did the same thing last week, but the slow way - grass seed. Matt used the tractor to till up the ground, and a broadcast spreader to spread the seeds, but I still had to even it all with a rake - and my lower back and stomach muscles are still sore!
