Our local weather guesser has pushed back any serious threats of rain until this weekend. I hope it ruins with weekend with a ton of rain.

10 miles today, 8 at tempo , 7:49. I tried to keep it under control for the first few miles, but it got away from me at the end (last mile in 7:24). Probably not useful for LT purposes. Gym tonight and rest tomorrow.

Nice run Mike

Johnny I think you should make that pic your new avatar. Your old one just is too plain now. Also we need input from the ladies. Isn't it too late in the year to be wearing white heels?

Is it safe for geezers to post now? I forgot to post my Monday run--3.5 M.

Very belated Happy Birthday, HF. Hi, Erika, in case you do a touch-and-go. Hi ks (hope you get some answers soon), heme, Mike, rip.

Johnny, you're looking good for your age. You asked about my upcoming trail race. It's the North Face Endurance Challenge--Madison. I'm doing the Half, camping the night before, hopefully seeing dsome 50-milers finish--it should be fun.

For the first time in 6 months, I did a fastish run on theTM. I used to do 3 mile @ 7:30 m/M and call them tempo runs, but today's was at 8:00 m/M (0.5% incline), so it was on the slow side of tempodom. But I've lost a step in the last 6 months (have I mentioned my knee issue often enough?) so I wanted to approach speedwork cautiously. In the last mile, my average HR was 144 bpm, which is ~83% of maximum, so I could stand to step it up a bit next week.

oooohhhhh Johnny - you look mahvelous - totally appropriate outfit for late summer, KS - not too late at all for white shoes (like that)

good idea to approach speed increases cautiously FO. You're making an excellent comeback as it is.

I think now it may be the increase in pace of my tempo last week that hurt me and not the 3-miler on Sunday. don't know, but will figure it out with the trial and error method. Going with just EZ runs this week for starters.

Think I'll keep the old avatar Ks, ....that' things just too scary. Hope the breathing issue is resolved soon

5 sproinky miles in the woods this morning ....that's 4 out of the last 5. I think it's the cooler weather, plus I'm only working outside 1 or 2 days a week now. Taking tomorrow off ot go hiking. Will bring camera HF.

Quesiton for Mike or Heme (or anyone wearing the pad insert): Do you just wear one on the injured foot only or both??. Tried it yesterday on both, today on the injured only. My preference is to keep the feet symetrical.

Ah, perfect question for today, Johnny (nice legs, BTW). I've been using only the one pad up until now, as only the right side had a neuroma and the left was OK. But Monday my left foot was feeling very sore across the ball of the foot, but not an isolated pain like the right. I added the pad on the left for today's run, and so far so good. Hard to tell on only a 3 mile recovery run, though. If Erica's still around, she may want to chime in.

Hi KS, HF, TW, FO, and Mike!

The run today wasn't great... I was doing another measurement of my 5K route and recording landmark points for a course description. I came out at 5.05K, which I think is likely good enough for this. Nobody's going to be PRing with the hill I have in it, nor will an extra 50m be what they'll be complaining about. It was hotter than I'd expected, so I was a bit overdressed, and started getting serial hot flashes as a result all through the run. Walked a fair bit, which is getting to be a rather bad habit. Feet are a bit barky tonight, so will not run tomorrow.

Hi everybody

I was going to post early today but the day got away from me. Kind of worn down by the time I ran last night so I kept the pace on the comfortable side and ran 8.5 miles.

Today was my monthly massage therapy and I really needed it. Back muscle hurt and a little ITband tightness. No workout today otherwise.

I had a solid month and gained a lot of fitness averaging almost 10 miles the 12 days I ran including 3 races.
