I am big into "relaxing" before a race. It is a 8+ hr drive for us, so I want to get settled in and be relaxed before the race...especially since this is my A race for the season.

Also, I am looking forward to Sheldon's clinic Friday morning...that is if he still will be hosting it this year.

I hope that Sheldon still lets me come and play in the sand with the rest of ya'll...now that I have compromised the secrecy of the Super-Secret Clinic.

What's the drive time for you, Sherry?

I'm coming in on Thursday afternoon. I'mnot sure where I'm staying because of the dogs. Everybody is welcome to the clinic on Friday AM.

Last year we did a lot of entry and exit. This year I hope to do a little more on the swim part. If the waters nice we can swim out to the last buoy and float and talk about siting on the way back in and do some draft drills.

I'll be there too - 4 of us are piling into my car and driving down. It will be a fun group - I'm the oldest - ha! I think a few others are coming from Houston as well. We're staying at a Boardwalk condo and arriving sometime Friday AM. It is quite a drive but with 4 drivers it shouldn't be that bad.

I'm not so sure how I'm actually going to do considering I won't really have time to train between IMAZ and GCT, but I think I should be ok. I can fit a longer run or 2 in here and there, but that is about it!

Did I tell you that my friend was reassuring me that I don't need to worry about "creatures" too?
He said, "you don't worry about it, just be faster than the guy behind you. Then, the creature will go after him, not you." :crying:
Thanks, dude. lol

Stitch....what's with you and sea creatures? The only thing you see out there are tiny jelly fish.

Irrational fears are just that

IRRATIONAL!

I may have been mentally and psychically scarred as a child about this....
and blocked it out so badly that YEARS of therapy won't cause it to surface.

:S

or, I could just be a big ole pansy.

For growing up a Navy brat, I've done surprisingly little swimming in the OW. Mostly just pools. And, beach visits were few and far between....when wading was the thing, not swimming.
It's a flaw in my character, that I'm working to overcome.

Tithers is very wrong indeed. You can see many, very large fishes...

I told you about the school I followed. 400yds away form the course? DUH...

You have nothing to wrorry about. Although you can and may see fish, they won't bother you. The last thing they want to do is get caught up in a frenzy of activity.
