Just switched from PC to Mac.<br><br>
Downloaded training center and I can't get it to download from the device. I have the most current version of the training center and the most up to date software on my 305.<br><br>
All I get is "failed transfer please try again" - and the weirdest thing? It downloaded workouts I had saved on the device, but not the history.<br><br>
Any ideas?

Training Center is about the "glitchiest" piece of software I've ever used on the Mac. Some things that have worked for me to get it hooked up are: turning the Garmin off then back on .... quitting then restarting TC .... restarting my imac .... unplugging the Garmin then replugging it in while on ... unplugging then replugging it in while off .... you get the picture.<br>
If someone else knows of a surefire way to get it to work I sure hope that they weigh in here.<br><br>
I don't use TC anymore for anything but uploading custom workouts.<br>
I use a program called <a href="http://www.montebellosoftware.com/" target="_blank">Ascent</a> as my log. It has stronger mapping and graphing capabilities than Training Center and best of all is written by a Mac guy. He is very receptive to user input and has made many additions and feature changes based on requests from users. There is a free full featured trial, but I footed the $30 and never looked back.<br><br>

yeah, loading workouts is all I really care about using TC for anyway.

I've looked at Ascent, based on one of Hup's recommendations in another thread somewhere. I think I'm going to fork over the money and start using it after this Marathon training schedule (so early April).

Ascent looks good, but you can't send workouts to the garmin with it can you?

You can't send workouts to the Garmin with Ascent, but I wouldn't be surprised if that feature showed up sometime in the future ..... at least I hope it will (then I could 86 GTC once and for all <img alt="wink.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/wink.gif"><img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">)

what a great thread!!! I've been using a Mac for years, but have always used my PC for the Garmin reports...UNTIL NOW! I just downloaded Ascent and love it! A day after I tried it out, I purchased it! Totally worth the $35!
