Greetings, all. Last night was the most craptastic night of sleep (or lack thereof) that I've had in probably a month. Ugh. Here's to hoping that I'm not falling asleep at my desk by 2pm!

Fun though; (sorta). I'm getting my hair highlighted a bit after work. I'm actually a bit nervous about it, and the ONLY reason I'm doing it is because of these stupid grey hairs that magically started appearing in mass quantity this year. Hmph. I'm hoping that I don't end up with really light hair when this is said and done though. We shall see.

Not fun: Yoplait Greek blueberry yogurt for breakfast. NOT what I was expecting. (nor will I eat it again)

Fun: Sunday there is a classic car show in town. I'm hoping to find a 67 mustang - preferably baby blue in color.

Have a wonderful day, daaaaaahlings!

Edit: A typo for GREEN yogurt has a very different meaning than GREEK yogurt. Whoops.

Ailerie - talk thoroughly about what kind of color you do and do not want before they do it. They can avoid the really light if they know that's the goal. Also don't be afraid to go back if you aren't happy. There's no harm in layering colors. I used to be afraid of that, but the last time I had highlights I had them redone two days later and there was no harm. Of course, my hair is too short to bother right now:)

I had a totally bummer experience last night. I bought a growler of star city DARK lager on Tuesday night. I was not able to enjoy it until last night. I thought about it all day and I was more excited than I should have been. Then I pour a glass last night and it's the regular lager, not the dark. I actually like both, but I prefer the dark and I had been thinking about it all day. Total bummer. I know, I know, world hunger, peace, etc. Get over myself;)

I'm trying to recall your natural hair color - is it light brown? I have darker hair and when my greys started showing significantly, I did the highlight thing to hide them also. I did end up getting very light overall, which was hard for me to keep up and honestly wasn't flattering to my coloring . But this time, I went darker instead - think chocolate with caramel pieces in the front. I love it and have gotten so many compliments! Don't be afraid to keep your options open.

You must share pics with us!!

Amy and NC - I do plan on stressing that I only want LIGHT highlighting. I've done the blond and platinum blond thing before. (and the redhead and jet black hair too.) I want things as natural - looking (sans grey) as possible now. Both for the overall look, as well as upkeep. My hair now is a crazy mix of light and medium brown shades (lighter from being outdoors) I find it really funny though.. I always said that I would age gracefully. Now that my (cough) divorce hairs (cough) are catching up with me, I'm fighting very freaking step of the way!

I have a Yoplait brand Greek yogurt in my fridge to try (plain flavor though) - what was wrong with it? I still lerv the Fage brand best so far.

So I enjoyed my quiet and solitude for about 10 minutes and then I got twitchy and antsy so I went out for a 2 mile run, and now I'm moving on packing and backing Pumpkin Ooey Gooey Butter Bars or whatever the name is.

Funny you guys are talking about hair coloring. I have a lot of grey. It's been there for a long time, like since highschool. I've colored my hair since then. But recently, I've been thinking I'd just like to leave well enough alone. I'm tired of the time and money it takes to color it all the damn time. However...I don't know how I'd look with all that grey. And it would take a long time for it to all grow out. So in the meantime, instead of doing a permanent color, I got a wash out one last night. I figured that'd cover things up for a while til I put some more thought into it. And it looks shiny now. Except the nice blonde I had put in for my highschool reunion are now gone. *sigh*

The Bounty is here! That's the pirate ship they used in Pirates of the Caribbean. Right now she's anchored off the coast down by Polar Bear Beach because there's two cruise ships in. But they'll bring her in when the cruise ships leave at suppertime. We're going to take a drive down to the beach to see her now, though.

((Moe for losing her uncle))

I'm about 50/50 gray to brown, but I'm too old to really care. If I colored my hair (and eyebrows) I think I'd look quite young.

Sleeping went pretty well with the cast last night.

Much better than I anticipated and it didn't get too warm. On the home front our new washer/dryer were installed yesterday, so now we only have the fridge left to be delivered. We also got phone/dsl and I picked up a 3G fematocell from ATT so the cell phone works and we're back online. A good day overall!

Kirk H. and Erin A. are walking around the building today. If I get a chance I'll try to get them to sign the cast.

Yay for Tim getting to see family and eat shrimp!

Clare, you'd look fantastic with any color hair.

Hi Torque!

Hair - I have a good sprinkle of white ones that look sparkly because the rest of my hair is so dark. ha.

Yogurt - I have a batch of yogurt in my incubator thing right now. It'll come out around 11 tonight.

Funnny: Someone is sitting by the back door, looking wistfully out the window. He would REALLY like to go outside, because it looks beautiful out, but it's not warm enough for him to stay out more than a couple minutes.

This is a great book on the gray/coloring topic: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/0316166618/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1285947533&sr=8-1

I had the blueberry one. It was okay, but the consistency was thicker than I am used to with my usual yogurts. It also wasn't very sweet at all. Not that I want a sugar-laden yogurt, but .. meh. A little sweetness in the morning is a good thing, in my book!

Those spiced-pumpkin bars will be attempted in my kitchen this weekend, I believe.
