Some Cool Runners may remember that last year I ran a race where a runner had suffered a heart attack and "died" (I saw the paramedics working on him on the roadside as I was cooling down after the race) near the end of the 12k event.

Here is a story on his return to the same race one year later.

I'm renewing mine next week, since I'm close to 3 months overdue. It's a skill every human being should have.

Thanks for sharing that story, SS. Truly amazing.

What a lucky guy to have all these wonderful professionals close at hand. I like Ken's attitude of gratitude when he said "All I had to do was die. It was everyone else, ..., they did all the work." Takes a special person to go back to the race where he almost died and finish it. He truly conquered it!
Thanks for sharing, Soos!
Thanks for the update, SS. Amazing how things can actually go very right at the same time they are going so very wrong. He was so fortunate to have members of a cardiac resuscitation team running so closely behind. Great story -- glad to hear he is doing well.
