Did my 4.2 mile hill run (see below). 65 degrees and wicked humid. Wanted to get out there before it gets unbearable like they're predicting. Have a great day!

Wow I wish I had a route like that...our biggest hill withing running distance is like the very first little part of that.

Very easy practice tonight and then the long run tomorrow morning on nice gravel roads. Hopefully my calves loosen up today.
Morning everyone! Nice 12.25-miles in the rain. Hope it ends as we have a Blues-n-Food Fest Downtown this weekend. Hope to enjoy both!
p2r, nice run there. Apparently you're feeling recovered from the marathon?

7 miles, 3 barefoot and 4 with Puddinhead
Good morning,

I did just over 5 miles yesterday evening. It was humid as hell, but besides that I felt good. No discomfort with the achilles. Tonight I have yoga class.
Good runs kicksters. 12.25 miles for me this morning too. Might as well have been raining. Temps 75-80 w/humidity at 90%. Sun just coming up as we finished. 8:33 avg. Tomorrow a very small 5K.

Woo! Great run today! It's still obnoxiously muggy so I opted for the treadmill. It's a cut-back week and today's long run was just 12 with the last 6 at MP (8:30ish). The 6 miles MP felt EASY. I didn't even notice my breathing, felt strong and relaxed. This is the feeling to shoot for on race day, and I've still got 3 months to nail it down.

I am enjoying a nice little runner's high right now.
That's one big hill! But where are the rest of them?

(you know I'm just foolin')

Rest day for me. Ahhh.
6 miles sharing the humidity with the rest of you. I did 3x5 min faster bursts because I was kind of bored. A girl across the street spied me as she was running and we had a go of it for around 60m. Then we turned different directions at the street corner. All in good fun.
Good running all! Yes, plenty of humidity this morning making my 4-mile recovery run a little messy.

Keep them fun!
Well, I slept in. Good for me I guess. I'll do today's run tomorrow.
3 running miles for me this morning. I felt great, with just a little tension in my hip during the last mile. I think I've finally turned a corner and will be able to start adding distance soon. I plan to continue 3 mile every-other-day runs for the next week. If I'm feeling good at the end of next week, I'll add 1 mile to my "long" run. As long as I'm feeling good, I'll continue adding miles this way, one at a time - I'm so ready for this.

Good running today, you guys.
Good morning!
Travelling yesterday so couldn't post.. just too busy.

Puddnhead run good millbot?

Ran 5 recovery miles with Tory this morning, nice and slo-mo with 7 x 23 second strides thrown in in prep for tomorrow's 20. Two of the strides were done while Tory and I chased deer down the road. They are everywhere these days. It really makes Tory's day!

Ever think the "Hacker" is an Active.com employee? hmmm

This site has gotta stop that stuff cause I'd hate to go cold turkey. I felt like a nomad those days wandering around looking for a place to post
4 easy in 88 degree soup. Yuck...
perch, I had the same thought yesterday about Active sponsoring the recent hacking.

Puddinhead has so much energy, about the only time she behaves is when we're running.
Good Afternoon Masters!

12.25 seems to be a common run today . . . good runs!

Runinbehind - great things are going well and it sounds like a good plan!

I also had the same thought about who's been hacking . . .

I struggled through a 22.2 miler today in 3:14:31. With the kids back in school now, I didn't get out until 8:00. After the first mile or two, I was already sweating pretty good and knew it was not going to be pretty. I had to start rationing my water/gatorade mixture early. I kept wondering where I could go in and ask for some water as I passed the fire station - only 1 truck outside, I passed town hall, my church . . . finally, I decided to go several more miles and stop at a friend's house - I knew the husband was going to be home today. Luckily, he was outside and they had some water bottles in the gargage. I don't think I would have made it without that extra water!! The last mile was a 9:00 mile which I barely could finish that. I stopped at the end of the driveway and thought I was going to throw up . . . I went to my neighbor's pool and got in - 72 degrees - it felt incredible! Feeling much better now after soaking in the pool and topping off with a chocolate milk!

Now I need to get ready for my daughter's birthday party tonight - 7 girls sleeping over. . .

Perch - are you doing a fall marathon? You did a 20 miler with Pro and another on tap . . .

Tammy - Good Luck on your 10K tomorrow!
Another one here with the same thought about the hacker.

No run for me today - gotta save myself for tomorrow.

Linda - I don't have my registration form with me today, so am not sure of the exact location of the start/finish tomorrow. Talent is not that big though and from what I remember last year, they have a little "harvest festival" shindig going on right where the race starts and finishes - I think it's by the railroad tracks. And since John is driving tomorrow, I didn't really pay attention to the exact location. With a town as small as Talent, I think it'd be hard not to be able to find. The race starts at 8 a.m. for both the 5K'ers and 10k'ers.

Thanks Pink!!!
Morning all, nice runs everyone. Rest day for me.

Tamster- I sent Rinda an email about the race location tomorrow. According to the sign up sheet it's the Talent Skateboard Park at Front & Main, which I think is a portion of the big park in downtown Talent next to the RR tracks.

The thought of the hacker being part of active crossed my mind, but I think the takeover of CR is small potatos compared to the rest of their virtual vast corporate empire.

Pink, nice job on finishing the 22 miler. The sun/heat makes a huge difference in how I run, too. Good thing your neighbor has a pool.

Happy b-day to your daughter. (I hope you have a nice bottle of wine for yourself...something to take the edge off of 7 girls sleeping over! You might need earplugs, too - I say this judging by how loud my two girls can be sometimes).
