Good luck to anyone racing this weekend and good runs/workouts to all!

Sat down pre- Spirit of the Marathon movie and mapped out a plan for the Madison HM. Yes, I'm gonna train for this one! That'll start in about a week.

Plan to run some this afternoon after napping a bit.

Have a good day all!

morning

Off from school today, so of course I have a list of stuff I want to get done. But since I have to rearrange some stuff, I have a speed workout I'll get done later this morning. As long as the breathing holds up, that is...

Who's racing this weekend?

Yesterday was a much-needed day off for me. Today I've got a short run planned, but it'll be interesting to see if that happens. It's snowing pretty hard now, and it's supposed to last all day. That'd make an outdoor run tricky, and I'm guessing my gym will be closed today. So today might not happen either. Oh well...

Good luck to anybody racing...

Can't wait to see how you do on a HM you actually train for Tiff.

I am about to head to the gym and lift some weights. No actual running of any kind which is good because I'm tired.

Mornin' gang!

6k last night on very icy sidewalks and streets. She's tough going these days, everything is a mess. Today is a rest day since there's a 12 mile long run on the schedule with the group tomorrow morning. Yikes...not sure if I'm up for that. At least with the group it's nice to have the company.

Good Morning!

Got in an additional 4 at recovery last night after the morning's 8, did it on the TM to work in a bunch of decline. It's interesting to mess with the incline/decline and try to keep you HR fairly stable, it made me realize how much more work uphill is and how much easier (cardio-wise) downhills are.

Two runs to do again today, there are a lot of doubles scheduled for the next few weeks. I'm no sure how I feel about them yet. The second runs are almost always 4 miles which is not enough time to feel like I've accomplished much but enough to take up over an hour of my evening by the time I shower up and pull myself out of runner mode. I'm so temped to just add the 2nd run into the first, but I'm sure there is a good reasoning behind Pfitz's schedules. I haven't cracked yet, anyway.

Is anyone racing this weekend? Good Luck!

Have great runs today, everyone!

Today is an off day. Last night's basketball game certainly counted as running as we only had 6 players! After two straight days of running and then last nights game I am a bit sore.

Speaking of 6, I hit two three pointers and finished with 6 points. We were only down one at the half but the other team caught fire from long range and ended up beating us by about 16. Oh well. It was a lot of exercise that's for darn sure.

Maples is turning into Larry Bird! Nice!

Another snow day for us which means TM later today. I'm really glad I was able to run outside yesterday despite the cold and snow because today will be my 4th day out of 5 on the TM. It hasn't been too bad - I have a load of old marathons on tape (Hi, my name is The Dude, and I'm a marathon addict) so I've been watching some of the old Boston races to get the juices flowing (2 favorites since 2000 - Lee Bong Ju gutting out the win and Elijah Lagat outsprinting Olympic champ Abera and the great Moses Tanui on Boylston St).

Have a good day, all! Stay warm (except JenRuns - she's pissing me off with all this good warm weather to run & race in!! )

Morning, all--

Just finished an easy 4 on the TM. And it was easy not because it was slow and relaxed but because I upped the speed every mile and felt great!!!!!!! I ran 13 miles this week and completed them 2:19 faster than the same 13 miles last week. Woo-hoo! Next week is 14.5 with some hills, but I may just run the miles and play with the incline on the shortest run. I'm still not sure how to run hills (technically. I know that one runs up them and then back down), so I'll just play around.

I'm still laughing about how yesterday Pacer managed to work "fish toxins" into every one of his posts. (((Maria)))) I hope you're feeling better.

Work, work, work today (why is everyone and their brother off today?). Have a great one, everyone!

[Can you tell that this is an exclamation point day?!?!?!?!]

good morning!

I did 8 last night at the dome in 1:13:44. I did some fast laps with the last one in 3:05....that is the best I have done without pacing with DH so I am happy.

might be a rest day today ~ I have plans to shop after work to if I do my recovery run, it'll be late.

Good thing I said I would definately get out for a run this weekend and not today (or else Tonya would be giving me that flogging!) They haven't even plowed our roads and we have about 4 inches or more so far.

Since I am working from home due to the weather I will miss my kick ass Ski Conditioning and Toning classes so I am going to do my pilates dvd and yoga.

The snow last night was pretty, made me wish I was running in it. This a.m. it is freezing rain and I nearly fell on my ass several times while walking to my office from the parking garage. Smart of the university to scrape the snow but not put down any salt. grrr.

Anyway, no run today as I have to run 9 in the a.m. I'm looking forward to the miles, but not the route. We have a standard snow/ice route that is one long 2ish mile wide road through the 'burbs and then into one of the metroparks. Not so bad once you get to the park, but the road gets really boring really quick.

Hey all:

Moderate workout last night. 10 miles with 12 x 1/5 mile in the middle. I was trying to get them in a declining series 64,62,60 for each set, but it was really dark with the snow clouds rolling in and I struggled to get the splits right since I couldn't see my watch on the back straight. Most were probably around 61. I'm trying to get myself to be able to tell the difference between current 5k pace, goal 5k pace, and the fiery pace of death just by feel (funny how 2 seconds per 1/5th makes that much difference). Didn't do so good on that front last night.

I was going to get up early this am for some easy running in the snow, but I was beat so I'll do it tonight. 40 minutes easy.

We've got a good 4 inches on the ground right now, which is a decent snow for around here. DW let me take the truck today, so that made it easier.

Good runs today everybody.

Pacer - I've been working my way through the running movies on the TM. This week I watched Without Limits and On the Edge. There was a great thread (Master's board maybe?) a few months ago with a great list of movies and books - some of which I'd never heard of. I'll have to see if I can dig it out later.

I have 7 tomorrow also. (I've done 7 before) I am hoping to finish in an hour and 24 and change. but it all depends on how slippery etc the roads are.
The numbers never really stress me out. Probably because I gradually work up. 7 is only one more than 6... Now what stresses me out is 13 after 10. Yah I know that's standard... but still. 3 more is like an additional 36/37 minutes for me....

I sort of like running through the subdivisions (that's all we run through in Pickerington) I scope out the houses, think "id pain that door X color" (which is usually red... you've seen how I do things.... ) I am excited for flowers to start coming up and stuff.

I do that too, but last year we ran this route 7 weeks in a row. This year, it will be 4 weeks in a row so far. I'm getting bored with the houses.
