Hey BBS, happy Friday. Where is everyone else? (rhetorical question, I know)

Trying to get down a PowerBar right now so I can squeeze in a little 2-3 miler before a 2pm meeting. Next time I run I'll be on the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. I'd love to bail out of here early today so I can start getting organized for the weekend. We plan to hit the road by 10am tomorrow, which should have us up there and at the expo by 1pm.

Speaking of all that...bib number 2384 if you're feeling racer-tracky on Sunday morning.

BBS - 5 miles this morning, 12 tonight and 14 tomorrow. You are rather keen! :)

Hawk - safe travels and best of luck in Philly! What's the goal again? 3:10? 3:20?

Nothing today. Pissed about the fact that I fixed a leaking faucet only to now have a leaking p-trap w/ an even more water damaged vanity. Have to buy a different sealant and/or new set of pipes as something is f'ed up. Long term, have to rip out the vanity and assess the damage. More $$ down the drain.

Hawk--you are gonna rock that course!

Asics--I feel your pain.

I have felt like absolute crap since starting on this new medication. Sick to my stomach and jittery. Resting HR is around 60, which is just a tad high, but not bad. Figured a run would help. For whatever reason I thought running trails would be a good idea. Uh, not. Started with the meadow loop. Even though I know I was just slogging along my heart was just pounding. I'd say 170 is just a tad high for the effort. Finished the meadow loop and decided to do the woods loop. This goes into/out of the river valley. Lots of climbing. Needless to say that wasn't happening. Just couldn't keep the HR under control. 5ish total.

3:20, officially for this one, out of respect for the fact I had a very short training cycle and was coming off injury in the summer. I feel pretty good about the prospects. Plus a sub-3:20 gets me outside the 5:00 window where 45-49 BQers have to wait to register -- i.e., a nice little bit of extra motivation.

2.6 miles at lunch today, 4 x30 second striders at the end. And that's a wrap until Sunday.

You'll all be happy to know that I fixed the leak... of course then the sink would not drain... there must have been a block further down the line as I rodded the line and it seemed ok. Plunger to the rescue. I almost murdered someone.

Hawk - BQ - 5 mins is the way to go. I'm now stuck with a BQ - 4:25 for 2013 unless I go sub 3:10 at Boston, which is the plan.
