Getting ready to go out for 5 or so miles. It is a bit on the chilly side with temps in the low 40's this morning. I am hoping that it will be a bit warmer by the time I get out.

Yesterday was a "rest" day. Left here at 7am to go up to Grandma's to take her to the doctor. Back home to go grocery shopping, fix dinner, then off to Bible study. No time for any sort of workout. Up early this morning and headed to the fishbowl. Bagged it after only 650 as I just felt ill. Son3's 8th grade graduation here in a bit.

Kevin- enjoy the 5 or so

Mom- hope its just fatigue and notthing else.

I have 5 recovery miles in store for today. Yesterdays speedwork was so-so... the pace felt easy at first, got pretty tough the 4th time around. Looks like I am gonna PR for a milage per month in May... Seems weird that I booked less miles training for my marathon...

Kevin - nice pace :)

BBS - cool picture, is it a race logo for something you are running or is that how you feel? How's the DW? time is getting close for you guys :)

Summer is here in pa and everybody you talk to is in a good mood since Chase has returned to the Phillies! Started taper and will be an easy 4m in the late afternoon.

Happy TGIF all

Good morning all and happy almost-Memorial Day weekend!

I'm planning to go long tomorrow, about 16 on the trail near home...not anywhere near as tough as last week's run/next week's race course, but I do want to get over the HM distance at least one time. As for today -- plan says to ride my bike, this evening. But it looks like heavy storms are headed our way later. So I may have to improvise...may go to the gym, or like last Friday maybe I'll hit up the track again for some more easy FiveFingers running and some core.

kevin - well done on the 5, can't believe you are getting temps like that when it's in the 90s here.

4bm - seems you have a lot on your plate, dialing it back a little was probably good

Apple - Phils were doing great even without Chase, imagine what they will do now. Meanwhile, down here in "Nats Town" people are starting to wonder just why did they pay so much for a certain ex-Phillie. Oh, and I'll be at the game Monday.

LOL - I always knew that it was the batting line up in Philly that made a successful formula for him and once that changed he is left to relying on his own skill.

Resting today in the hopes that a miracle will happen tomorrow and I'll race well. Finished 5-days of antibiotics... feel better, i.e. not tired and crappy, but sinus pressure and cough remain. Actually the sinus pressure is worse today and now my ear hurts. A return trip to the Dr is likely if this persists though the holiday weekend. It a royal pain!

Hawk - I think we are about to swap weather. Have fun going long.

Apple - enjoy the afternoon 4.

kfuller - nice job on the 5'er. Seems like you will be in good shape for your next race.

BBS - Recover well, 4*1600 is tough. Funny how those miles creep. Next you'll be complaining that you are not making your miles. Wait, that's me.

4boysmom - yep, as Hawk said, you need to ease up a bit. It's great to be busy but not all the time.

Hello party people. The weather was so pleasant today that I decided I'd better make hay while the sun shines. Or get in a good run while the weather is mild, to be more accurate. 13 miles, and feeling tired but good.

It all worked out well this afternoon. The company president sent us home early and I took advantage of that to get out for about a 50 minute ride...good thing because about 15 minutes after I put the bike away the skies opened up. By then I was onto my 20-minute core session.

Nice ride on local roads that are normally clogged with rush hour traffic. There is something to be said for not joining all the lemmings who jam all the highways going out to the shore this weekend! For once I was able to keep a nice steady 15 mph speed instead of constantly having to stop at a traffic light, re-start, get back up to speed, etc. Nowhere near Dave Boyer speeds but for a novice rider like me that's a nice average.

kevin - I'll be at the Phillies-Nationals game Monday. Every time the Phils visit Nationals Park it's like a home game as our fans take over the place. The whole game Werth will be hearing "Werth-less...Werth-less....Werth-less..."
