Friday rest day, thank God. Legs actually feel pretty good today. 7 mile went great yesterday.

May try and squeeze a little bike ride in.

Good morning all.

BBS - Glad the run went well yesterday. No racing for me this weekend.

Me - 16 mile run this morning. The goal was the first 12 miles @ 8:15 pace. I ended up averaging 8:13 with my splits at 8:16, 8:14, 8:11, 8:14, 8:17, 8:12, 8:08, 8:11, 8:13, 8:12, 8:13, and 8:14. My goal for the last 4 miles was 7:30 pace and I just completely disregarded the goal pace on these miles averaging 7:19 with my splis at 8:21, 7:16, 7:15, 7:26. Man was it fun to go out there and run for 2+ hours.

BBS - good to hear on the 7, rest up

Dave - nice, that is some Friday morning run!

I was up early with the group for a little over 8, we went through a couple gnarly wooded parts of the trail that I had not been on before complete with rocks, fallen trees and pricklers that scratched up my leg. I need an ice bath.

zrun - nice early run, despite the battle scars

Dave - awesome workout!

BBS - enjoy the bike ride

May try to get out for a mid-morning 5'er but my legs are trashed from the Wednesday track session - that'll teach me to run too fast after not doing speedwork for a month of Sundays. Supposed to do 400s around 1:24-1:28. Others are much faster than me but not in a race. Some I beat in a 10 mile by 3 mins.

Heading to Galena later today. DW is doing a triathlon out there tomorrow. Hilly as a you know what. Good job she's had 2 weeks to train on the bike for that... Weather forecast says thunderstorms so it may be a du or cancelled. Could be a 3+ hr drive for nothing. We shall see.

MTA: 6.25 miles in the bag. Sunny 65F. A bit, dare I say, warm...

Oh, I forgot to mention my workout yesterday afternoon. I was scheduled for a brick workout, 24 miles on the bike and 1.5 mile run. It didn't quite workout that way. At my 16 or so I blew a tire, not did I just get a flat but it blew right through the tire and put a slide in it about 2 inches long. So there was not fixing it on the road. If I would have had a dollar bill with me I would have had at least attempted to fix it by putting the dollar on the inside of the tire covering the slice in the tire. I have never tried it but I am told it works, I use to carry a dollar with me and for some dumb reason I took it out. I guess I needed a dollar for something.

Morning all and TGIF.

Forecast calls for one more day of rain here but right now it looks nice outside, albeit a bit humid.

I've got kind of a whatever workout day planned today. I may head out later this afternoon for a couple easy miles, maybe even in my Vibram Five Fingers! I've been wearing them around the house for about a week now...they felt weird at first but I'm getting used to them. I'm also flirting with taking the bike out for a quick little spin after work; it's National Bike to Work Day today, and I didn't do that because it would be a kamikaze ride on the roads I would have to take. But maybe I can get a ride in later if the rain stays away.

Long run on the trails planned for tomorrow. 2 hours, for however many miles that comes out to.

BBS - enjoy the rest day

Dave - nice long run there. Re: the dollar, yeah I would have blown it on a gatorade stop or something long ago.

Dave - wow you sound like MacGyver being able to build a plan out of two tooth picks and a balloon. Sorry to hear about the flat.

Hawk - let me know how the shoes work. I see them everywhere but still can't see using them.

BBS enjoy the rest

Not sure what I am doing. Tomorrow is long run with TnT so I shouldn't run tonight but I am in the mood to put a couple miles in on the way home from work. Will probably sneak 3 miles in with the headphones just to unwind from a long week. Happy running all!

Logging a goose egg today. Again. Life is just getting way to busy. Hopefully that will give me at least a little bit in the tank for tomorrow's "race". Should be interesting--race at 9, work at 10.
