That's very cool, Road Hawk. I meant no disrespect to your little burg, BTW. I love small towns - often wish I lived in one. (Although, to many Omaha would seem like a small town ).

It's a rest day for me, but I'm posting anyway just to wave the flag and show my support for this place.

Ummm, I don't think we have boobiehugs over on the Boomers side. Ribs might be Quite Put Out.

Ribs always needs something to complain about . . . maybe we should drop the hint that there are boobie hugs on the KR site. I wonder how quickly the gods would sign up over here? It might even bring DarkHorse out of hiding . . .

Marie -yes, I'm quite the contradiction in the culinary arts. Some nights are beans and weenies and other nights (like last night) are new yorks, grilled and seasoned to perfection, corn on the cob and grilled zucchini. I made some real yummy bruschetta the other night too - with tomatos and basil out of the garden.

Tomwhite? Got a hairball or something?

The ticker thing is creating some stress for me and I'm not sure I like seeing it countdown to my HM. I'd rather stay blissfully ignorant.

Thanks !! I went back & checked your message on last night's thread.. love the new meds & so glad I fired that stinkin' pulmonologist I was seeing!!

I have been leaning toward not doing the Talent 5K & just waiting for the Phoenix one. I seem to be doing the ole rollercoaster ride thing with my breathing & running. But then last night, just surprised me Will go for a couple of runs on the bikepath in town this weekend & then will know more. Also, I'll need to sneak in a couple runs Labor Day weekend - I'll be visiting my mom in Salem.. they get the keys to their new house tomorrow.

Speaking of - any one know of any good running areas in Salem? my mom's house is in a hilly area supposedly, so will need to find some flat ground.

I wish Lab was around because he could steer you in the direction of good running trails since that is where he went to college. I went up there for a CLE one weekend and he told me the name of a very large park near the hotel I was staying at that is great for running. I can't remember the name of it now, but it's the huge park that is right near the downtown area. I never did run there though because I was afraid of getting lost and I just decided to stick to the hotel TM. But I know he said it's a pretty runner friendly area.

I think you are smart to hold off til the other 5K in November. That particular race has a 5K and a 9 mile, but since I'm running a half marathon just a few wks prior to it, I think I'll stick with the 5K. Plus it'll be my last chance this year to run a 5K and try to beat my PR from June.
