Another day to wake up before 5am. Happy to get 10miles done before 7:30am. A long day (my Friday is pretty much over here).... meeting didn't end till well after 5pm (really? on Friday?). Then 2hr train ride to the hotel. Dead tired.

I am attemping to run all the way to the Ocean (about 15miles total) before visiting my home town/parents tomorrow morning.

Have a good Friday all~

Hey Yoshi - does the exercise help with the jet lag? I would imagine it does somewhat. Good for you getting all that running in on your trip.

Nothing planned for me today, but I may sneak in a short run. Last day with Grandma and Grandpa watching Eli while I work. Report is due Monday and I'm seeing a light at the end of this tunnel...

I am OUT, at least as far as running is concerned, for at least a week.

Doc said I have a "beautiful joint" when he looked at the films of my knee,

but, that I definitely have a fluid buildup in there.

So, I'm on high doses of ibuprofin for awhile,

stretching/strength stuff when the discomfort goes away...

and, a followup in two weeks to see how it goes.

I can swim all I want, as long as it doesn't hurt.

I can bike with little to no resistance on the trainer as long as it doesn't hurt.

No running.

No race this weekend......

not even spectating because Rabbit wants to go alone.

Sooooo.....I might just get my nieces blanket done or nearly done.

Time off is not quitting.

Anyone else think I believe that any more now than I did before?

Stitch - you aren't quitting you are healing and recovering.

Stitcher, don't be a dumb*ss, you are giving yourself time to heal.

Got up early this AM since I had the opportunity for a OWS - two swims in 12 hours gave me a great opportunity to focus on form while tired.

Morning, TEAM LIT!

Still hammered from allergies... low energy, congestion, etc.

5 mile run early this morning. Tried to push tempo pace since my runs all week have been social and slow. Got pace up there but breathing was erratic. Never felt smooth. Hope this shit clears by Sunday!

Great day, folks!

Stitcher - healing vibes coming your way!

Me- I did a super easy run/walk combo on Wednesday and my hammy felt pretty good. Will do the same again this afternoon and see how it feels. Hopefully I can get out for an easy ride this weekend too.

Stitch - hope you feel better soon. Does you no good to get to the starting line injured.

1:25 on the exercise bike this morning. 10 min WU then 6 x 8 min @ 225 watts w/3 min recovery and 9 min CD. Sets were supposed to be 60 rpm, but I missed that on the workout instructions and did them at around 100 rpm. Oh well.

FIB a 15 min brick run, starting at 8 min/mi and building to 6 min/mi, holding there for the final 3 min. 2.2. mi total.

Have a great day everyone!

Thanks everyone....

It's important to have friends who understand.

Moco: I'll quit being a dumbass about quitting vs healing if YOU quit being a dumbass about wetsuits = cheating.

Not quiting! Just taking time to recover.

However, you need to come support Rabbit in her first triathlon. You guys trained together up to this point. Plus this give you a chance to come be on the spectator side. And of course the most important part is that I will be there too!

More cycling. I have to say - last night's ride home in strong wind was one of the most miserable I've had in a long time!

10.8 miles in - a bit breezy still.

18.7 at lunch ... more wind, but tempered by beautiful views of Kittery.

Definitely riding the short way back home!

A bit over 40 miles today. Tomorrow AM long, hilly ride with the Bagelry crew. Hopefully not too fast!

Good weekend all, and Mojo racers.

And - enjoy the run to the coast Yoshi (and your visit with the folks).

Bike commute today and a 3-mile lunch run which, uh, was interesting. Bit it on some uneven sidewalk so now I've got sidewalk rash on both knees and my palms. Cleaned up enough before getting to the office building so I didn't panic anyone but man did that post-run shower hurt like a mother...

Dave....

Yep...I'll be there.

Normally, I'd have a master's swim workout on a Friday, but

since I got a massage to try to get the legs in order, that put me into

work a bit later than normal.

AND, since Friday is "speed/Power" day which usually involves a fair amount of swimming needing

a decent kick...

I decided not to swim.

The Bay Swim is one week away.

Missing a sprint workout isn't gonna kill me.

lol

I feel like I've been snacking on Motrin..............

oh wait!

I have been!

But, things seem to be getting SLOWLY better.

I can straighten my leg now where I couldn't before.

Still can't walk fast, but it's an improvement.

Instead, I convinced Rabbit (with logical help from Dave) that I WILL BE GOING tomorrow...

I told her, "I'm going, either separately or together, but I'll be there."

Happy Friday. Sick (Thor), hurt (Stitch) and other banged up folks hope you get better soon. Be positive.

Last night I had a really cool workout downtown in a place called Northerly Island. There is a big loop, just over a mile, and we hammer around the mile on our bikes then run. I got my ass handed to me on the bike by some great athletes, but then afterwards found out my break was rubbing. I was wondering why 300 watts wasn't catching up.

Today swam outside, our pool has its outdoor lanes open at Lifetime Fitness. Nice easy 45 minute recovery swim.

Just a lunchtime 4-miler for me. Gorgeous day for a run, but my favorite running path is under water at the moment, so had to back-track and head toward the city. That meant dodging about four major construction projects, lots of pedestrians, people who should have spent more time practicing riding their bikes in the driveway before heading into the city, etc. Oh well.

Stitch - hope you heal up soon!

Hang in there, those who are hurting and sick :(

I made to the end of the bike path/almost to the end of the river where it meets the ocean. It was more than 16miles. Even at 5:30am, the sun was beating and high humidity. Plus 16miles was a bit too much for my current run fitness (haven't run more than 10miles since Boston)...One bottle of water for 2:20 run. I barely made it.

Great weekend to all, and good luck racers!!
