Morning all you asphalt trotters

Wow, I think I was getting more sleep on the concrete couch! DD likes to sleep... during the day... not so much at night! My fingers are crossed for getting a run in today. I'm sure there will be hordes of baby holder will come over today since we denied access yesterday. That should give me a window to sneak out for a 5-6 miler.

here is the root of my sleeplessness! =

Happy Friday

BBS - awesome pic (it got an awww from DW), good luck with getting the sleep in.

I got out late and wound up with and easy almost-8 on the treadmill. I was fighting lightheadedness and boredom the first half, almost jumped off and went outside since the rain had stopped but it was so late and didn't want to deal with traffic. Second half I played some number games with the speed and felt a lot better.

Mornin' gents and happy Friday!

Office is dead quiet today...gotta love Fridays in the summer. Not sure what I will do yet today; I could swim but I also threw the FiveFingers and some running gear in the bag so I could do some easy running in those as well. Right now I lean towards a run because I'd like to get out for a long road bike ride tomorrow.

On Sunday there is another all-comers track meet and I'm thinking of sauntering over there for another 3000m race...only this time I won't go over there at 9am just to wait 2.5 hours in the hot sun to run!

BBS - very cute indeed. Hope you can get both a run and a nap in at some point.

Kevin - enjoy the rest and good luck racing tomorrow

zrun - yeah it's hard to just zone out on a TM and run the same pace the whole time. I'm always fiddling with the pace or incline it seems.

BBS - Cute picture. I used to run when DD was napping. At least I think I was running, sleep walking perhaps?

Hawk - enjoy whatever workout happens. Swimming in VFF could be an option... do they have webbed toes?

zrun - there was lightening at my usual running time. I stayed in bed.

kfuller - sub 20 5k here we come!

So, no run this morning or yesterday. I may hit the TM but I'm still wondering why my quads hurt so much.

A Flounder sighting! A rare and treasured thing.

kfuller - try to pass out AFTER crossing the line :) Best of luck, we're all count on you.

Anyway, I was bored at work (imagine that) so hit up the TM for 6 miles at the normal plodder pace. I decided to run in my Fastwitch 4s racing shoes - legs felt a lot better. Those shoes are the best - well over 400 miles and feel great. They remind me of by beloved DS Trainer 11s from 2007/2008. Halcyon days indeed. Anyway, I may ditch the Gel-Banditos - because they seem to be pounding the crap out of my quads. That'll be a good excuse to breakout the new Fastwitch4s I have in the closet :).

Thanks everyone.

Believe it or not... I'm bored at the moment too. Got about 3hrs total sleep last night, then we took DD to the Dr for her check-up, (everything looked good), got home around 2 and got in a 2 hr nap. Now I'm waiting on some sort of visitors to sneak out the door for what will probably be a scorcher of a run. May dial it back to 3-4 miles since of the heat and lack of sleep. Plus I'd like to get out for a longer run tomorrow as well.

I just got back from the track, after doing another little FiveFingers session. For the first time I extended the mileage in the VFFs over 4 total - 3200 warmup, then some plyometrics and strides on the football field (I love the field at this school because it's real grass, not turf, soft and smooth like a putting green). Finished up with a 1600+ plus going the "opposite" direction in the outside lane. It was 90 degrees still at 7:30 pm but running shirtless it felt just fine.
