Had a pretty nice 4 miler yesterday w/ the group. I also got a pretty nice sunburn yesterday lounging around the pool...

BBS - nice job evening out the tan

Got out for 12 this morning. Picked it up in the last mile.. ~80F, sunny and humid. OK in the shade. Had thought of pushing it to 13 but was running (rim shot) late. Anyway, now we're off to the beach.

Morning and Happy Friday dudes.

I'm in Syracuse NY today. Cousin's wedding tomorrow, then back home Sunday. Not sure what I'm doing yet today after getting here in the wee hours last night. According to my plan it's an "optional XT or rest" day. Supposed to run 15 tomorrow but may have to delay that until Sunday.

Hope everyone's got some July 4 fun planned. And of course good luck to anyone racing.

Hawk- My July 4th plans are to run as fast as possible for 5k. I am keeping my fingers crossed on that one.

I got out for 6 miles in 52:36(8:46). The last half was nice a semi-quick. Now time for some rest and relaxation.

Kevin- I hereby challenge you to a 5k duel! Winner gets sore legs and loser has to take it easy next week

I still have not made it out for a run yet... I'm bored. But its too hot to run now. Gotta wait another 7 hours.

Nice work guys. Guess I opted for the off day. I did do a little core though, about 25 minutes worth - planks, side crunches, side leg raises, bridges, then some stretching. IOW, the kind of workout you can get done in the hotel room to pass the time while Dw showers and gets ready to go. Hangin' out in Cooperstown right now.

BBS - We're here until Thursday. That's shorter than I'd hoped but we have to get back due to a prior commitment. So, what's your 4th July 5k goal? Sub 20, Sub 21? I'm just hoping not to pass out in mine. The best I've done here in 18:25 but that was back in 2008. I'll be lucky to break 19 on Monday.

Forgot to mention that I got on my bike yesterday afternoon to make sure that (a) it still worked and was hence worth bringing; (b) I could get used to the gears; and (c) that I could clip in and out without falling over and making a complete prat of myself. Anyway, I rode about the neighborhood for a while. I discovered that 15-16 mph seemed to be a good cruising speed for my skinny legs but anything over 19mph was a struggle. Maxed at 21mph and thought I was going to die. Then I remembered that that's Dave's easy ride speed... Yep, I'm crap on the bike. Mind you, it's the first time I've been out on it in two years.
