well after a day off yesterday from working out I had to get after it today. Working from home as washer needs to be repaired. Since no commute to worry about I joined the bike group for a very nice 25 m ride. Changed the route up some ended up doing parts of one of our standard routes in the opposite direction. Great change. It was very nice to be riding again. Nice social ride. Leaving this afternoon for guys camping weekend in NH.

Easy 2 mile run this morning. Day off from work so I can pack for tomorrow. I probably shouldn't do it from a recovery standpoint, but I've got a 2.5 mile run with DW this afternoon. She needs the support, so I'll put my needs second as she has done for me ever since I started doing tris (especially over the last 2 years).

Great workouts to all!

Easy 3miler this morning. Couldn't sleep well - just too much going on at work. Some inner/auditory nerve/balance system test later today. Hope they find something about the issues I have been experiencing. Pack for the race and vacation afterwards. Busy day!

Gearing up for a weekend family reunion. Very excited since we missed our "attempted annual" gathering last year. Get to drink beers with my brothers. Always a fun time. Will be out of touch probably through next Tuesday.

6.5 mile run early this morning with Andyman and the Diesel. Legs were just blah dead but awoke in time for Willis, a pretty long hill with moderate grade, nothing these old bones can't pummel. :)

Good morning! Unscheduled rest day for me too. Was supposed to OW swim but I'm kinda tired today and a bit sore from lifting twice this week. I figure after tomorrow's trail race, the water will be good for recovery either tomorrow night or Sunday morning anyway. Since I do not work on Fridays (work 4 10hr days) this Friday is designated "bike gear shopping day".

Af for me today, I slept in this morning since I was up until about 11:30PM last night. I am working from home today, so I plan to run four miles to our swim club (outdoor pool), do a straight 3,000m swim and then run back home. The fact that the pool doesn't open until ~1:00PM means that it is going to be a HOT one out there. I have been downing a lot of water in preparation, it is supposed to hit 94F.

"Rest" today.

That means drive to Tithers house!

Then, pool & pizza with ATL Kicksters @ T's house and then weekend stuff including a "change of venue" recovery long run tomorrow. Tithers says she knows of a park that's got lots of shade. She'll stroll Baby B around while I chug along in circles. I figure she can have the cooler w/ cold refills for my water bottle. Oh yeah!

The humidity finally broke around here last night. Spent a very pleasant evening at the local park district 'Concert in the Park' and actually was able to sleep with the windows open and the AC off last night.

Butts and Guts this morning. Swim this afternoon (my first in about 3 weeks). Other than that just recovering for the HIM on Sunday. Probably will put my race wheels on, swap the brake pads and pull my rear hydration off the bike in prep for the race.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Road for 75 minutes around 200 watts, just checking out if my legs are still there. I swam in the outdoor pool around noon only about 40 minutes.

Masters swim in the morning...main set was basically 50 m sprints. Gave them my all but was feeling the fatigue from swimming four days in a row. Squeezed in 35 minutes on the trainer doing 90 second intervals. That's it for me today!

As for that exciting news I was going to share...nothing ever came of it. I was actually offered a new swim coaching job, but we couldn't reach an agreement on $$.

Hey Kyle, You never know, things could change on the $$ front, but still nice to be asked :)

For me, it was a really crappy day. I managed a decent run last night, but woke up with a HUGE migraine. I had to struggle through work as I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, (not that I'm doing much), and we were supposed to have a go-live. so, I managed to struggle through the day in a fog and left a little early to go to the chiro - might have to go to work on Monday. I feel a bit better, but couldn't muster a swim. I know, time is in the bank, but really the bank looks very small right now with the past few weeks, I'm hoping that is just the taper crazies talking. T-,8days 9 hours.. Nice easy ride tomorrow then a hot brick run, (gonna be in the 90's here) then let the "fun" begin! - well except for my run Sunday and my short workouts next week!

Tempo run for me today. Legs were really tired after last night's club ride. I am having a tough time in the humidity - it sucks the life right out of me and drives my heart rate up much faster than normal.

DS started hockey camp this afternoon. It was delightful to spend 2 hours in the rink. More to come as camp continues through next week. Aahhh.
