Good morning BBS. I got in 5 miles today in 42:38(8:31). Lately it seems that last mile of my runs has been faster than it should, but it does not wear me out. 7:46 for the 5th mile today. I think I need to keep the paces more even though. Keep up the good running everyone.

Mom - it's so much fun though, isn't it?! Hope you're back to normal tomorrow.

BBS - nice run, and I hear you on making the best of things! :)

Finally done with my work "week" of Tues/Wed/Thurs. As simple and short as that sounds, it's not when you add in the need to get runs in and lifting, as well as sleeping and eating on top of the 3 12 hour shifts. As rough as it is, I love my 4 day weekends! Even longer this time around since I'm going camping with a roommate after the weekend, so I won't be around for about a week and a half. Hope everyone has a great weekend and next week as well!

Hey, hey what's cookin'?

So... struggled out of bed; ran to gym (3 miles); did some half-arsed attempt at upper body strength training; chatted to a buddy about his recent triathlon and DW's HIM this weekend; bumped into some other buddies, just before I left, and joined them for the start of their run for a 4.2 mile return leg. Temps in the low 70s, sun shining, humidity in the 70% range. The sweat was flowing.

4boysmom - Rest up! What's up with the coyote boots? Are they ACME brand?

BBS - what flavor shake?

Alex - Busy busy. Make the most of those longs weekends...

kfuller - that's a good sign, right?

We're doing Saddle Ridge Ranch. Wide open spaces are callin' my name, Ridin' the range over mountains and plains, Searchin' for answers I need in my life....... Stupid song got stuck in my head on both runs this week. But, the kids are lovin' it! So, yah, it's a cowboy theme, hence the cowboy boots. If they post photos, I'll post 'em here.

Nice running etc this morn. Off to the ferry and a little work. Feel pretty good today which is a day off.

It's Strawberry Festival on the island this weekend. Thousands of folks come from places unknown in search of the strawberries that don't exist. Nevertheless, there is a parade, booths, bands, and no parking. Hot dang!

Hey y'all. Another hot day, here. A few days ago I got a nasty blister on the side of my foot. I put a bandaid on it and promptly got another right next to it. yesterday I ran 4 miles and relaized the discomfort was affecting my gait. So today I am going to aquajog or ride a stationary bike or something. I guess if I am going to be "injured" during marathon training, the first week is the time to do it.

Hey all,

Well, got second run in this week. did another 2m and still felt good except the heat is a bugger. Tomorrow will see if I can double it into 4 since I feel like I can do it.

Stay cool all and enjoy looking for the strawberries Dan

Jill - Hope the pup is doing better, I know mine has been sleeping all the time because of the heat.... She has been joining me on the runs but I think I am going to leave her home tomorrow for the 4m. Plus thanks for the update on Loopy !!
