Good morning all.

I didn't want to make the same mistake again this morning.

I can't believe how busy the daily thread was yesterday. That is exciting. Well heading out for a short fast run. The plan is for one mile WU followed by 1.5 miles at around 6:15ish with a one mile cool down or so. Don't know if I can hold 6:15 since I haven't run that fast in quite some time. Will slow down if I have to.

Happy running all.

Good morning, everyone

David Hope your run goes well. Wish I could run 6:15/mile!

Another cold morning at 23F with a little more moisture in the air than yesterday. Ran 5.4 miles in 1:00:30. Glimpsed a falling star near the beginning of the run.

Have a great Friday!

Richard - Have a good run later.

John - Good run this morning.

The temp here is right at 20' again. Great morning for a run. Put in 3.78 miles in 31:33. 1.5 mile run ended up in 9:03 or 6:02 m/m. I am very excited about that. I didn't lose quite as much as I thought, I still have a long way to go.

My goal now is to improve that by 10%, down to 8:08 or a 5:25 mile.

happy running all.

How did I know that Dave would be sure to post first this morning...

WO- Nice run this morning- way to get team Q started.

Yesterday went for an easy 6. Pretty uneventful, other than a little reminiscing on where I was at this point last year. I think my knee is structurally in a much better place than last year because the day after I first ran in snow last year, my knees were really in pain, but this year nothing.

The plan is to go at least 7 tonight with about 30 minutes of core work afterward, but I might get inspired to do something stupid because of the VRAA- if I do anything over 10 tonight- be sure to give me a hard time about it.

Nice efficient workout, Dave. You gotta love it when you can quality in less than half an hour.
Wandering, well done. If there's one positive about these short days, it's the stars on a clear pre-dawn run.

Five miles for me today. It's actually my longest effort of the year so far (3,4,3,5), and I did it without stopping. I know I sound like I'm fresh off the couch potato program, and not a 27-year running vet, but I was in a pretty deep rut.

I'll take baby steps out of it.

Good runs, all

Good morning! SOme good workouts already this morning.

Fishbowl for me this morning. I was having a really good swim until the weird guy shows up again. This guy gets in the pool and maybe does a lap every 5mins or so. Yesterday he got out when I did and then goes and does a deck change. Mind you, it's just the two of us in the pool... The way he looked at me this morning totally gave me the creeps so I left.

I was so rattled by the whole thing that I changed and came home to do my neighborhood route. Ran it way too hard because I was pissed at that guy. The garmin is giving me 4.48, but I'm thinking that's slightly short. Anyway, did it in 38:59 for a 8:42pace.

Hubby and the kids went on a field trip today. 13yo son is still here, but he's on the computer in the basement, so I doubt I'll see much of him today. I'm planning on doing some of the cleaning I meant to do over Christmas break.

I think you really need to report this guy. Just a thought, is he mentally retarted? He may not be all together there if you know what I mean.

Good morning gang. Rest day for me today and I think I need it...feel like I'm getting sick, but I WILL run 14 miles tomorrow...weather forecast...30's, rain, wind...fun!

It will be better than yesterday & Wednesday's runs though. Both in the teens with near 0 wind chill 23 days until race day (Derry 16 miler) so I need to get the 14 miler in tomorrow then taper me thinks.

Sorry I haven't been being consistant on here, but I am still running and I am still around...promise!

4boys-- If you feel weird about the situation I would talk to the people in charge at the pool about it. You can never be too safe.

No running for me today as I need a rest day anyway. Keep up the good running everyone.

4boysmom, i hate creepy guys!!! the ones that are subtle and nonverbal are the creepiest ones.. i almost feel slightly more comfortable around the talkers instead of the gawkers.

Oh, I did report the guy. When I first got there I told the guy at the desk what happened on Wednesday. He said that was way out of line. Of course, I didn't know the guy's name so they asked me to let them know if I saw him again. This morning, I got out of the pool, wrapped a towel around myself and went to the front desk. They figured out who he is. Not sure what they can do because he isn't a member.

btw--I don't have a problem with deck changes. I've done 'em post race when I needed to get out of wet clothing. But, that's in a parking lot with lots of people around. This guy did it when it was just me there AND a locker room just down the hall...

Dave - Wow, 6 m/m, going for 5:30s. Good for you! BTW, you convinced me. I'll do a POTD soon.

Outlaw - I love seeing shooting stars during a run. That's the best.

Richard - Have a good run later.

Mailbox - Rest. Relax. Don't push this VRAA thing too hard. Probably you should wait until February to really engage.

Baba - It's hard to pull out of a rut, so that's a great effort on your part.

Flounder - superlatives fail me.

Missy - That was quite a workout, too.

4boys - I saw your thread on PRT on this same subject. I'm glad you reported the dude. I should think that if the loser isn't a member that the club could simply call the cops! Am I missing something?

flobear - Good to see you and good luck on your run. No more being sick is allowed.

kfuller - Enjoy the rest day. Come back strong this weekend.

Me - I forgot to bring me workouts to work. So, I'll do my little 3 miler at home along with some core (VRAA inspired core, no less). Weekend plan: 6 mi on Saturday, 12 mi on Sunday.

Billy Go team J!!

Today I was planning on lunch run, but my office looks like a bomb went off, so I am stuck in the office today.

Change of plans to 5 slow steady outside tonight. Actually looking forward to outside run. It is still cold, but NO wind and I really miss running outside. Should be a crisp run

ps.... should be around 60 degrees this weekend, go figure.

I forgot to bring my running jacket to work today. I do have a long-sleeve tech. So I'm thinking I should just wear that with 1-2 emergency cotton t-shirts over it. (I do have hat, gloves, pants). Temps will be around 30 degrees and it'll be a short (4.3 miles) run. Should I go for it?
