Good morning everyone. I am looking to get outside for 5 today. I need to get serious about getting a training program together. I think I need to start it on Monday. So today may be the last of 5 miles everyday.

Serious loss of mojo here. Fishbowl this morning. Only reason I went was because I didn't wanna hear it from son1. Only got 1500 as my shoulder is really bothering me. I re-injured it earlier this week. Of all things, it's from running on the dreadmill. Don't ask. I don't have a clue HOW I do it.

4bm- Sorry to hear about the sore shoulder. Hopefully all will be better with that soon.

I got in another 5 miles today in 42:05 (8:25). I decided to make the last mile fast and ended up with a 6:58. Hopefully with speedwork and such I will be able to lower that and maintain that for a 5k.

Slept in as I have the day off but feel like I haven't slept. Great. Need to get in some miles at some point.

kfuller - nice job on the 5'er with fast finish. That may inspire me to go to the indoor track and run faster while avoiding the walkers in the running lane.

4boysmom - are you tensing up and hunching your shoulders in the TM?

I shouldn't be posting in here since I haven't run yet, but I think I'll feel more obligated to actually do it if I check in. We were supposed to get up early and do our p90x workout, but mr jebba messed up the am/pm thing, and the alarm didn't go off. I appreciated the extra sleep, truth be told. We did the 15 minute abs routine, and will do the other part tonight. I get off work at noon, and want to get in at least 12 miles.

Break between classes. One more, then some planning with one of my organizations, then off to watch the team at a meet tonight. I'll get a lot of minutes in on the warmup track above the track while the team does work!!!

Hello all,

It's snowing again here. How novel. So far it's not sticking to the roads though.

I'm about to head across the street to the gym and get a run in between meetings. Just finished back-to-back meetings, and next one is at 3pm so I've got a nice window, maybe even for a fairly long one. Still mulling over what workout to do. I haven't run since Tuesday and missed my Wednesday track workout (12x400). Yesterday would have been a crosstraining day. I'd just go ahead and do the quarters but now I'm thinking of jumping into an indoor track meet on Sunday, which will more than make up for the missed speedwork. So right now I'm just leaning towards an easy run. Maybe 2 x the 10k program? Then I can go "long trail" tomorrow and at least get semi-decent volume for the week. Decisions, decisions...

Back later. Have fun all.

So, the indoor track was 1000% better than the TM. Was planned on 6 miles but ended up with 56 + 2 cooldown laps so 7.25 miles. Averaged m-pace with the last mile in 6:40. Felt good to go a bit faster. Looks like I'll be doing my long run tomorrow rather than Sunday. DW and I almost had an arguement over when we do our long runs... it's her fault for getting me to pace her. Crisis averted.

Hawk - you jonesing for a race?

Jebba - just do it already

Alex - what's warmup/jogging pace? 6:30 mpm?

Who, me? Actually I've got plenty of small races potentially lined up over the next month. Mostly club races, which are never goal races. The indoor meet on Sunday is the last in a series of 3 held in January. They're open/all-comers events, pay $4-5 and run as many events as you want. My record for that from I think 2 years ago, is doing the mile twice (open and masters heats), 400, 800 and the 3000. As you might expect I was pretty gassed by the 3000.

7.7 miles today on the GMU treadmill, nice and easy 8:11/mile, last 2 minutes at 6:00/mile pace just to get a little turnover in after three missed days (forgot earlier that I had rested Tuesday, before things went nuts, so this was my first run since Monday).

It seems that mid-afternoon on a Friday is when there are lots of cute GMU coeds at the gym. Of course, I provide this information strictly as a public service.

Alex - Carleton. St Olaf has a beautiful campus, if I remember it correctly.

Ok, ok, I did it. 13 miles. It was lovely to be outside in short sleeves. It was a luxurious 43* outside. Aaaaah.
